Watch: Avengers 2 UK Press Conference: Planet Hulk Anyone?

The Avengers 2 premiered in the US, and then a press conference was held featuring Joss Whedon, Elizabeth Olsen, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Paul Bettany.

The cast took questions ranging from the female empowerment of Scarlet Witch and Black Widow to Joss Whedon returning to Marvel (he says he wouldn’t go far away) to a rather enigmatic response regarding the future of the Hulk from Whedon and Mark Ruffalo.

Spoiler alert for those wanting absolutely nothing to know about the movie, though specifics are not mentioned.

If you follow all the news, you realize plans for the Hulk haven’t been made known. The Hulk is the only member of the Avengers who is not confirmed for a future movie. While Whedon and Ruffalo’s response doesn’t specifically state what happens to the Hulk in the movie, it’s suggested the Hulk may be going away for a long time (due to whatever) and possibly coming back in a big way.

You can watch the Hulk question above around the 20:18 mark.

“Do you want to tell them?” Ruffalo asks Whedon.

“No. You go,” laughs Whedon.

“I can’t,” responds Ruffalo. “Sorry. Can’t.”

“It’s too amazing,” Whedon adds.

It has been long speculated by fans that Marvel may be doing a Planet Hulk film, which may eventually lead to a World War Hulk movie as well. Ruffalo also recently revealed Marvel doesn’t hold the rights to a solo Hulk film, so what exactly is going on remains to be seen (perhaps a “team” Planet Hulk movie?).
