Vincent D’Onofrio Not Appearing In Spider-Man: Homecoming As Kingpin

It seems some people just can’t accept that the MCU and Marvel TV are separate. Or still don’t realize it, yet.

The latest speculation sees that since Marvel Studios and Sony are making a new Spider-Man: Homecoming movie that the Kingpin might be featured in some capacity.

In the comics, Spider-Man is known to battle the Kingpin a time or two.

The news of some fans wanting Kingpin in Spider-Man: Homecoming has made its way to Vincent D’Onofrio who plays the character in the Marvel TV Netflix Daredevil series; however, Vincent D’Onofrio basically says it’s wishful thinking.

“Sorry folks but this is news to me,” Vincent D’Onofrio tweeted. “It would be great but I don’t think it will happen.”

For those still not convinced about the Marvel Studios and Marvel TV disconnection, even Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn confirmed with: “There is Marvel TV who is pretty disconnected from Marvel Film, which is owned by Disney, and that’s really not connected at all.”

Daredevil Charlie Cox even thought they might recast DD for the MCU.

If you are just catching up with why the Marvel movies and Marvel TV (and comics) are so far apart, it seems the blame is to lie with eccentric Marvel CEO Ike Perlmutter and his comic creative committe (which runs Marvel TV and comics).
