Venom Movie Based On Lethal Protector Comic

Venom Movie Based On Lethal Protector Comic

New details about the Sony Venom movie come out of the Brazil Comic-Con.

Tom Hardy and directorĀ Ruben Fleischer made a surprise appearance via satellite whereĀ Fleischer confirmed the Venom movie is based on the Venom: Lethal Protector Marvel Comics comic book story from David MichelinieĀ andĀ Mark Bagley.

The Venom: Lethal Protector story sees Venom and Spider-Man come to a truce as long as Venom commits no crimes. VenomĀ leaves for San Francisco, but Spider-Man eventually catches up with Venom thinking he’s gone back to being a bad guy only to eventually team up with Venom against five symbiotes who are the offspring of Venom:Ā Scream,Ā Phage,Ā Riot,Ā Lasher, andĀ Agony.

Tom Hardy was also shown in the video wearing the Venom movie logo/art t-shirt and a giant ā€œWe Are Venomā€ banner was held by the audience (h/t Omlette).

Regarding the plot of the movie related to theĀ Venom: Lethal Protector comic, it has been reported the Venom movie will not feature Spider-ManĀ as Tom Holland is presently starring as Spider-Man for Marvel Studios, and the Venom movie is not associated with the MCU. We can speculate that in the film, Venom already has a truce with Spider-Man and has moved away, which explains why Spider-Man isn’t in the movie. It has been said Carnage will be in the VenonĀ movie, so possibly Carnage helps Venom against the five other symbiotes? Or another possibility is that it’s Venom vs Carnage and the other symbiotes.

Venom has an October 5, 2018 release dateĀ also starringĀ Jenny Slate,Ā Michelle Williams andĀ Riz Ahmed.
