Ubisoft Developing Netflix Series

It’s learned Ubisoft, creator of the popular Assassin’s Creed video games and upcoming movie, is in talks to develop a Netflix series.

It’s unknown what the project may be, but Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot confirmed the news with Reuters.

IGN also offers an update from an official Ubisoft rep:

“Ubisoft is continuing to expand our brands into other forms of entertainment beyond our core video game portfolio. And with the Rabbids TV Series and the upcoming Assassin’s Creed film as examples, we believe there are more opportunities than ever to develop and create compelling content based on our unique properties that audiences will enjoy. While we have nothing further to share at this time, we look forward to sharing more when the time comes.”

A video game company striking a deal wouldn’t be unheard of as Activison recently released a Skylanders animated series on Netflix.

Ubisoft is also known for Far Cry, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon, Just Dance, Rainbow Six, Prince of Persia, Rayman, Watch Dogs and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell.

In addition to Assassin’s Creed, movies for The Division (starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Chastain) and Splinter Cell, with Tom Hardy, are in development.
