Tyrese has actually been wanting to play the role of Green Lantern John Stewart for quite a while as he has teased and posted fan art of himself numerous times on social media.

“Yeah, I would love to do it. You know, I had a couple meetings at Warner about it,” Tyrese said back in 2017. “I just think that they’re still trying to figure out what the movie is. I would love to officially confirm, but I can’t. And if they go in a different direction, I think they know what is best for the movie, but… The fans started this campaign, and all I’ve done is made use of my social media to let folks know I’m interested.”

The current rumor is that WB is looking for a John Stewart around the age of 30-years-old; Tyrese happens have just turned 40.
