DCU Lanterns Rumors Include Kyle Rayner & Obsidian

We have some potential leaks for the upcoming DCU Lanterns series, which is due to hit HBO Max in 2026.

According to an account on X, Kyle Rayner and Obsidian will be appearing in Lanterns.

Worth pointing out is that in July, the account tweeted Peacemaker Season 2 details about the DCEU Justice League, which has seemingly been corroborated.

What are the rumors?

The claim that Obsidian will appear in Lanterns was first made by the account back in November of 2024. The Kyle Rayner tweet came in February. Obviously, things could change.

Lanterns will feature Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan, Aaron Pierre as John Stewart, and reprising from Superman and Peacemaker Season 2, Nathan Fillion is featured as Guy Gardner.

We can speculate that possibly Kyle Rayner might not just be a Green Lantern, yet. The inclusion of Rayner could also hint at what’s to come regarding Chandler’s Jordan.

Insiders have also told us Lanterns “is really good” and starts out grounded but goes heavily into sci-fi.

Who are Kyle Chandler and Obsidian?

In DC Comics, Kyle Rayner is an artist who becomes a Green Lantern after Hal Jordan’s fall from grace. Chosen by the last Guardian, Ganthet, and given the final working Green Lantern ring, Kyle proved himself as one of the Corps’ most creative and resourceful members, eventually serving as Ion, the White Lantern, and a key hero in the DC Universe.

In the Comics, Obsidian is superhero, Todd Rice, the son of Alan Scott, the original Green Lantern, and the twin brother of the heroine Jade. He has the ability to merge with and control shadows, using them for stealth, teleportation, and to envelop others in darkness.
