Tyler Hoechlin Superman Is Dead In ‘Superman & Lois’ Final Season Trailer

The CW has released a new trailer for the final season of Superman & Lois which picks up from Season 3 revealing that the Tyler Hoechlin Man of Steel is indeed dead.

Season 3 ended with Superman battling Doomsday on the moon. However, from the looks of the trailer below, when Season 4 picks up, Lois and the boys find Clark dead in Smallville. They do take him to the Fortress in an attempt to revive him. Lex is also none too happy and looks to don a version of the Warsuit from the comics.

Tyler Hoechlin recently spoke with EW.com and hinted what is to come for Superman in the final season (I’ve actually been told Superman is losing his powers so they can save on the VFX cost).

“I would just say there were parts of my day where I was less active than others, if that gives anything away,” Hoechlin joked. “I may have snoozed through a rehearsal or a blocking at one point. [But] I definitely am still part of the show, obviously. I was filming for many months this year, but I don’t know if I want to give away necessarily in what capacity.”

Hoechlin added, “There are flashbacks, there are also other elements,” he says. “So I feel like people can read between the lines there and put it together… There’s one flashback in particular with Dylan Walsh [who plays General Sam Lane] that I had an unbelievable time with, it was so much fun.”

Hey, maybe James Gunn will bring Hoechlin into the DCU as his Batman?

The Superman & Lois final season premieres Monday, Oct. 7 at 8pm EST with a 2-hour premiere. The official synopsis is here teasing what if Superman never returns.
