Resentments boil over in Alexandria in Robert Kirkman, Charlie Adlard, and Stefano Gaudino’s The Walking Dead #150 from Image Comics, the best-selling comic book of January 2016 according to information provided by Diamond Comic Distributors, the world’s largest distributor of comics, graphic novels, and pop culture merchandise.

Marvel Comics was January’s top publisher with a 44.38% dollar share and a 48.17% unit share. DC Entertainment was the month’s number two publisher with a 22.16% dollar share and a 24.02% unit share. January’s number three publisher was Image Comics with a 9.67% dollar share and a 10.99% unit share. In fourth was IDW Publishing with a 4.11% dollar share and a 3.48% unit share. Dark Horse Comics placed fifth for the month with a 3.06% dollar share and a 2.51% unit share.

Marvel Comics had eight of January’s top ten best-selling titles, led by Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribic’s Secret Wars #9, the conclusion of their universe shattering crossover series, at #2. Also in the top ten were Spider-Man/Deadpool #1 by Joe Kelly and Ed McGuinness at #3, Star Wars #14 at #4, Star Wars #15 at #5, Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorrentino’s Old Man Logan #1 at #6, Star Wars: Obi-Wan and Anakin #1 at #7, Darth Vader #15 at #9, and Cullen Bunn at Greg Land’s Uncanny X-Men #1 at #10. Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo continued their stellar “Superheavy” storyline in DC Entertainment’s Batman #48, landing at #8. Among the other premier publishers, Dark Horse Comics’ Hellboy Winter Special was their top book at #137, and Back to the Future #4 from IDW Publishing was their top book at #99. January’s top non-premier comic book was BOOM! Studios’ Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #0 at #39.

Kieron Gillen and Salvador Larroca’s Star Wars: Darth Vader Volume 2: Shadows and Secrets from Marvel Comics was the best-selling graphic novel of January and one of Marvel’s nine titles in the top ten. Rounding out the top ten, Oni Press’ Invader Zim Volume 1 ranked #9 for the month.

Random House’s Star Wars: I Am Jedi Little Golden Book was January’s best-selling book. Also in the top ten was IDW Publishing’s Worlds of Color: Welcome to Oz Adult Coloring Book at #5.

DC Collectibles’ DC Comics Icons: Harley Quinn Statue was January’s best-selling toy product and one of the three DC Collectibles products among the top ten, along with the Batman: Arkham Knight: Azrael Action Figure at #6 and the Batman: Arkham Knight: Man-Bat Figure at #10. Diamond Select Toys’ Marvel Select: Deadpool Action Figure, a perennial seller, placed among the top ten at #7 for the month.

Wizard of the Coast’s Magic the Gathering TCG: Oath of the Gatewatch Fat Packs were January’s best-selling games product. Diamond Select Toys also had two titles in the top ten, led by the Back to the Future Monopoly at #2. Also in the top ten was IDW Publishing with three products, led by the Machi Koro Card Game at #3.
