Last week it was rumored that Tom Welling was wanted for The Flash movie, back again as Clark Kent from the Smallville series.
However, when asked about the rumor, Tom Welling flat out tells Cheat Sheet “no.”
“No,” responded Welling. “There’s a lot of that that goes on. In that world, there’s a lot of rumors because it keeps everybody talking about shows.”
According to the article, Welling said his recent appearance in the Crisis On Infinite Earths crossover would be his last.
“No, I recurred as a Clark Kent character in a crossover thing last year,” Welling said. “Since then, I think they’re sick of me.”
Tom Welling also denied Crisis
Worth a mention is that when I exclusively revealed Tom Welling was wanted for Crisis that he denied that, too, so anything could be possible, and we’re not talking about a small CW crossover show here, we’re talking about a huge budget movie and one that will arguably be the biggest of 2022 — even more so than Marvel’s Doctor Strange 2 which is also tackling the Multiverse.
Maybe if they offer Welling enough cash he will finally suit up as Superman, which would go a long way of making things right following his awful portrayal in Crisis that basically saw him spit on the entire superhero mythos and Smallville by giving up his powers and refusing to help, especially when his family was dead (pun intended) in the sights of the Anti-Monitor.
I am actually guessing that similar to Crisis, WB is asking lots of different actors to return in The Flash movie, as Crisis asked Nicolas Cage to return as Superman, and now Cage is rumored for The Flash.
The Flash has a June 3, 2022 release date directed by Andy Muschietti starring Ezra Miller as Barry Allen, Michael Keaton as Batman, and Ben Affleck as Batman.
A description for the movie offers the flick will follow Barry Allen as he breaks the bonds of physics and crashes into various parallel dimensions leading to encounters with different versions of DC’s superheroes.
