Tom Hardy is currently filming the new Sony Venom movie where it’s revealed Hardy’s training for the role is pretty hard core.
Tom Hardy is no stranger to physical roles, which include Warrior, The Dark Knight Rises and Mad Max: Fury Road, but Hardy may be taking his training to a new level with Venom.
Images and video with the Venom stunt team have recently hit the net offering an inside look at Tom Hardy’s training to play Venom where it’s learned the actor is working out five days a week at two times per day training in boxing, kick-boxing, mma and grappling.
“Training Tom Hardy, what I actually found surprising is his humility. He is very humble, down-to-earth, you are able to communicate with Tom Hardy,” trainer Mark Mene offers in the below video. “I’m impressed. He is definitely going to live up to the character.”
Pro MMA fighter Nathan Jones adds, “Training Tom Hardy for Venom, he is a good guy, but more importantly, he is a good student. Receptive. Open to learning… Because he is dealing with the guy that turns into an 8′ 4” beast. Yeah he’s got power. I like that he’s got that fight in him. It’s learning how to deal with shots coming at you. What would you do if and when and learning how to fight.”
Mark Mene finishes the video offering that Tom Hardy is going to be the best supervillain ever and perhaps teases Carnage with a play on words (as Carnage is said to be confirmed for the Venom movie.)
“What the world is going to see is one of the darkest, most powerful supervillains that Marvel has ever created,” Mene said. “It’s going to be carnage.”
Venom is directed by Ruben Fleischer for an October 5, 2018 release date also starring Jenny Slate, Michelle Williams and Riz Ahmed.
