Filming on Top Gun 2 is underway as Tom Cruise offered a first look on Twitter.
“#Day1,” the actor teased with the following image featuring Maverick all suited up.
“Feel the need,” the image teases, which is a reference to the line from the first movie, “I feel the need… The need for speed.”

No other cast for Top Gun 2 has been announced, but Cruise’s Oblivion director, Joseph Kosinski, is directing with Peter Craig, Justin Marks and Eric Warren Singer writing the script.
The first Top Gun debuted 32 years ago in 1986 and also starred Val Kilmer as Iceman, Anthony Edwards as Goose and Kelly McGillis as Charlie.
Top Gun 2 is said to be titled “Top Gun: Maverick” with a July 12, 2019 release date.
Tom Cruise also stars in Mission: Impossible – Fallout on July 27.
