'Titans' Season 4 Casts Titus Welliver As Lex Luthor

Titans Season 4 on HBO Max has cast Titus Welliver as Lex Luthor, who is primarily known for being a Superman villain.

Titus Welliver is known for a plethora of roles and recently starred in Prime Video’s Bosch (great series).

A first-look image has been released featuring Titus Welliver as Lex Luthor having a chat with Anna Diop’s Starfire.

“You usually have to do this whole dog-and-pony show to get an actor to do the show,” showrunner Greg Walker filled in EW. “But when I called to kind of lure him in, I could barely get a word in. We were talking on the phone and he was just walking through his library, telling me about all his Wolfman/Perez Titans editions. He’s a giant, giant fan. He’d watched every episode of the show, and could tell me about certain stories, certain shots. It was the most unexpected call I’ve ever had.”

Titus Welliver’s Lex Luthor has an interest in Superboy

Walker reveals Titus Welliver’s Lex Luthor has a “sensitive, thoughtful approach to evil and power,” and of course, is interested in Superboy in the series as Superboy was created from Lex Luthor’s DNA.

“We’re really going deeper in all these characters and shaking them up,” Walker said. “What shakes Conner up is an identity story. He’s explored his Superman self, but he has not really explored his Lex self. What does that mean when you do? What happens when you give that self the keys to the car? Does it start driving the wrong way at rush hour 100 miles an hour?”

Lex Luthor was recently played by Jon Cryer in Supergirl and Jesse Eisenberg in Zack Snyder’s Batman vs. Superman and Justice League. Eisenberg recently said he wouldn’t mind returning to the role.
