Thor: Ragnarok Gets A “Revengers” Fan Poster

Thor: Ragnarok Gets A “Revengers” Fan Poster

Last night during NFL football, Marvel Studios debuted a new “Contenders” spot for Thor: Ragnarok which featured Chris Hemsworth offering a suggestion for their new team: “The Revengers.”

“I’m putting together a team,” Thor tells Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie, to which she responds, “This team of yours, does it got a name?”

Thor takes a look at Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner and replies, “Yeah, it’s called the Re… Revengers.”

Valkyrie isn’t too impressed with the team name, which sees Thor offer, “Well, I mean, we don’t have to have a name. We could have no name.”

The Revengers are an actual team in the Marvel Comics, with the 616 version led by Simon “Wonder Man” Willams also featuring D-Man, Anti-Venom, Virtue, Captain Ultra, Goliath, Atlas, Devil-Slayer and Century, with the Revengers at odds with the Avengers.

Marvel COSMIC fans will also recognize The Revengers as the evil version of the Avengers from the Cancervere as part of Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning’s epic line of Marvel COSMIC comics and The Thanos Imperative

A fan went out and manipulated the Thor: Ragnarok poster and made a “Revengers” poster. Also check out the Thor: Ragnarok “Contenders” spot below which references Revengers (via reddit).

Thor: Raganarok has a November 3, 2017 release directed by Taika Waititi starring Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk/Banner, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, Anthony Hopkins as Odin and Sam Neill in an unknown role.

Thor’s world is about to explode in Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok. His devious brother, Loki, has taken over Asgard, the powerful Hela has emerged to steal the throne for herself and Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe. To escape captivity and save his home from imminent destruction, Thor must first win a deadly alien contest by defeating his former ally and fellow Avengers… The Incredible Hulk!
