Last night saw the Thursday night advanced screenings take place for Thor: Ragnarok, and the third Thor movie hammered home $14.5 million!
The numbers is the seventh largest Thursday night preview for a MCU movie and puts it close to Spider-Man: Homecoming‘s $15.4 million, which went on to debut to a $117 million weekend gross, so it’s safe to assume Thor: Ragnarok‘s opening weekend numbers will bring in similar numbers.
The $14.5 million is also more than double that of Thor: The Dark World‘s $7.1 million for its Thursday night screenings.
Thor: Ragnarok has a current worldwide gross of $164.5 million.
Its Rotten Tomatoes score has dropped just a couple of points, but is still sky high at 93% “Fresh” with 226 positive to only 16 “Rotten.”
89% of the audience have also stated they liked Thor: Ragnarok.
Thor: Raganarok has a November 3, 2017 release directed by Taika Waititi starring Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk/Banner, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, Anthony Hopkins as Odin and Sam Neill in an unknown role.
