Alan Taylor has been filming Thor 2, “The Dark World,” in England as well as Iceland.
The England set revealed a major battle scene depicting Chris Hemsworth as Thor along with his fellow Asgardian warriors against the likes of various alien looking creatures and beings.
As movie goers saw in both the first Thor movie as well as The Avengers, Thor’s half-brother Loki, the diabolical trickster, was responsible for trying to unsurp his brothers throne and destroy Midgard (Earth).
With the full synopsis for Thor 2 (below) we learn that Thor is to battle something from beyond the Universe, something “shadowy,” perhaps a “King” in its own right.
However, before Thor deals with all that chaos, he has to battle his brother yet again.
New details coming from the Iceland set for Thor 2, “The Dark World,” reveal a massive battle between Thor and Loki with it said that 500 extras are involved as well.
No other details are known, except that the scene is one of Iceland’s largest ever filmed, according to the Icelandic site Visir, but if the previous set images from Bourne Wood, England proved anything, it should be one glorious battle.
[[wysiwyg_imageupload:3615:]]Of course, Loki isn’t the only film’s villain as Doctor Who‘s Christopher Eccleston plays Malekith the Accursed, the leader of the Dark Elves, who just might be a minion of the “shadow enemy that predates the universe.”
Regarding Thor vs. Loki for the third time — brother will be brothers.
