'The Marvels' Shows Off Brie Larson, Iman Vellani, Teyonah Parris

New images and an interview promote the release of November’s The Marvels starring Brie Larson, Iman Vellani, and Teyonah Parris.

Worth a mention is that The Marvels won’t be at Comic-Con this week as Marvel Studios will not be showing as the current SAG strike prohibits actors from promoting their projects. They can still promote any projects associated with comics and I believe can still attend on their own, but they can’t discuss anything about their movie or TV projects.

Marvel Comics recently announced Iman Vellani is co-writing a new Ms. Marvel comic book.

“I’m excited that the MCU has three lead women, all from very diverse backgrounds, and they’re all baddies in their own way,” Parris filled in EW. “It’s going to be really exciting just to see these smart, fun, intelligent, and troubled women find their way.”

The official synopsis describes the film as: Carol Danvers AKA Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau.

“I understand that feeling of being afraid to let go of control, of being afraid of passing on responsibility to others,” said Brie Larson. “You almost want to take on all of the burden yourself. So, I think this is an incredible metaphor for learning how to be in a team. It’s a very clear example that no one person can do it all. You need all kinds of skill sets, all kinds of people with different viewpoints and different backgrounds in order to save the world.”

The Marvels gets released on November 10, 2023 directed by Nia DaCosta also starring Samuel L. Jackson, Zawe Ashton and Park Seo-joon.
