The Exorcist: Believer Goes Woke And Tanks

The Exorcist: Believer Goes Woke And Tanks

And it’s RIP The Exorcism: Believer as it’s confirmed the flick went woke, which probably explains why it is bombing on Rotten Tomatoes and at the box office.

I haven’t seen the movie (don’t plan on it now) but I caught wind of a comment on Deadline that compares the film to a title of a certain book by Hillary Clinton.

Update: It is reported the franchise creative plan is in a tailspin and there will be changes to the sequels.

It takes a village

“It wasn’t very good or scary. It shouldn’t have been called Exorcist: Believer. It should have been called Exorcist: it takes a Village to perform an Exorcism,” states the comment.

I reached out on social media for a confirmation The Exorcism: Believer is woke AF, and now I got it.

What happens in The Exorcist: Believer?

Social media users posted a clip featuring the return of Ellen Burstyn as Chris MacNeil who says something that is really shocking, well not shocking if you know the agenda-driven woke crowd.

Referring to the classic 1973 movie directed by William Friedkin, Ellen Burstyn’s Chris MacNeil says in The Exorcist: Believer, “I didn’t actually witness it. You know… The Exorcism… They wouldn’t let me.”

She’s asked, “Why not?”

She replies, “My opinion? Because I’m not a member of their damn patriarchy.”

The man she is talking to is Black and laughs.

As pointed out by the Twitter user who leaked the footage, the scene makes no sense.

There were actually nine deaths in the original The Exorcist and Father Merrin and Father Damien sacrificed themselves at the end of the movie to save her daughter (Friedkin hated the sequels).

But we see in The Exorcist: Believer, it’s all about shitting on the original movie and sending a message that just because she is female, she wasn’t allowed to be involved in an exorcism, of which she has ZERO experience and knowledge.

That my friends is woke AF.

Why would she be allowed in the exorcism when she’s hysterical (I would be, too) — she isn’t an exorcist, doesn’t know how to fight demons (the priests barely could), and we can add the demon would likely want to possess her when getting removed from the child, as again, she would be the weakest in the room, and no, not because she is a woman. $400 million investment down the drain

Regarding the reviews, The Exorcist: Believer is at 23% on Rotten Tomatoes, with a 55% Audience Score; IMDb gives it a 5.2 rating.

The flick was also tracking over $30 million this weekend at the box office but now is estimated to bring in $28 million (Sunday update: dropped to $27.2M; Update #2: finished lower at $26.4M). My guess is it will be ready by Halloween to go VOD (update: confirmed).

Universal also spent $400 million to acquire the rights in 2021 and it has been announced The Exorcist: Believer is supposed to drum up a lot of support for more movies and at least two more for a trilogy, but all this woke garbage is nothing more than pure vomit. How is that investment looking now?

When are studios going to learn?
