Tatiana Maslany Mocks Marvel and Avengers Rumors: ‘It’s Woke Feminist Stuff’

Tatiana Maslany isn’t holding back (or maybe she is?!).

The She-Hulk: Attorney at Law star responded to recent Marvel Cinematic Universe rumors with a heavy dose of sarcasm and mockery while appearing on the Comedy Bang! Bang! podcast.

Responds to Deadpool & Wolverine rumors

Maslany poked fun at reports suggesting she was cut from Deadpool & Wolverine and refused to return for Avengers: Doomsday due to a supposed falling out with Disney.

“I feel an article coming. It’s out there. I already got dragged,” she joked. “He didn’t like the two scenes that I did, so he fired me, and then I got litigious. I took Disney to court and Ryan Reynolds.”

Avengers Return

When podcast host Scott Aukerman teased that she’d be returning for Avengers: Doomsday, Maslany ran with it, fueling the flames with more satire.

“Nope. Disney has approached me to play She-Hulk again. Guys, I said no. Because I just did. This is the facts,” Maslany said. “They’re out there. You can read the articles about it. I was really mad at them for kicking me out of the movie. I was just mad. I’m woke. It’s woke feminist stuff. I was like, ‘How dare you cast a woman in this role? That’s disgusting.’”

She added with a laugh: “They really wanted me to be in Doomsday, Avengers-style, or whatever. I turned them down. I’m confirming it here.”

While her tone was clearly tongue-in-cheek, some fans online believe there may be a hint of truth buried in the jokes.

She-Hulk’s Future in the MCU Looks Grim

Maslany’s comments come after a wave of speculation that Marvel Studios quietly cut She-Hulk from its future plans.

A recent rumor claimed Marvel wanted She-Hulk to play a major role in Avengers: Secret Wars, but Maslany declined, allegedly over her issues with Disney.

More than likely, the decision may be Marvel’s.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law failed to gain traction on Disney+, drawing criticism for its tone, writing, and special effects. Combined with ongoing budget cuts and pullback on content, the studio is likely quietly moving on from the character altogether.
