Ragnarok Rumored To Be Tom Hiddleston and Chris Hemsworth’s Last Thor Movie

Will Thor: Ragnarok be the last we see of Tom Hiddleston and Chris Hemsworth in a Thor movie?

Yesterday saw a batch of set pics from Australia hit the net featuring Tom Hiddleston and Chris Hemsworth.

The location in Australia was made to look like New York with yellow taxis and police cars, which means part of Thor: Ragnarok will be set in the Big Apple.

The BBC covered the news about the Thor: Ragnarok set images and included a caption that mentions: “The film is rumoured to be Hiddleston and Hemsworth’s last outing in the Thor franchise.”

Worth a note is that the rumor didn’t say it would be the last Marvel Thor movie, just that it may be the last for Hiddleston and Hemsworth.

We’ll leave you to speculate what the Thor rumor means.

Regarding the Thor: Ragnarok scene being filmed, the Daily Mail notes the pair look fatigued and suggests they may have been involved in acting out a fight scene. Tom Hiddleston and Chris Hemsworth were also seen joking around in-between takes.

Tom Hiddleston Explains Why Loki Was Cut From Avengers 2

Originally, Tom Hiddleston was supposed to appear in The Avengers: Age Of Ultron; however, Marvel ended up cutting Loki from the film.

Now we find out why.

Tom Hiddleston reveals to Variety that it was because of test audiences.

“It was a part of a dream sequence. It was a part of Thor’s nightmare. Thor has a dream where he meets Loki and Heimdall,” Hiddleston explained. “It was a day long shoot for me, loved seeing Joss [Whedon] again and Chris [Hemsworth] and Idris [Elba]. As they were testing the film, the initial audiences were like ‘oh Loki is controlling Ultron!’, and Kevin Feige and all the guys at Marvel were like ‘um, no, he’s not’. So they just thought it was confusing. So they were like we have to get rid of it.”

Joss Whedon also said why the scene was cut was because it didn’t fit with how Thor was portrayed in Avengers 2 and more.

The good news is that Tom Hiddleston will be back as Loki for Thor: Ragnarok, which hits November 3, 2017.

First Look At Tom Hiddleston As Loki In Thor: Ragnarok Set Image

Following Mark Ruffalo wrapping, now we get a look at Tom Hiddleston as Loki on the set of Thor: Ragnarok.

Tom Hiddleston posted the image on Instagram.

“He’s back!” Hiddleston said.

It remains to be seen just how Loki plays into the events in Thor: Ragnarok as it’s known Hulk and Thor team-up eventually. Does Loki join them? Also, what about the end of Thor: The Dark World that saw Loki pretending to be Odin and taking over the throne?

If anything, it’s good to see Loki’s return.

Benedict Cumberbatch Teases Doctor Strange & Tom Hiddleston’s Loki On Screen Together

Will we ever see Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Hiddleston on screen together?

Now that both English actors are a part of the Marvel Cinematic Multiverse, it could happen, which more than likley would be with one of The Avengers: Infinity War movies (or maybe Thor 3?).

Following the recent Doctor Strange panel at Comic-Con, MTV caught up with Benedict Cumberbatch where they chatted about Tom Hiddleston. MTV said we need to see the two together in a film now that they are in the Marvel Universe.

“I know. I know. We’ll see. Stuff could happen,” Cumberbatch responded with a big grin.

Benedict Cumberbatch also talked about his character, Doctor Stephen Strange, and said he’s arrogant and a “douche,” – similar to Tony Stark – and that they are using some humor as well. Cumberbatch also added that the Doctor Strange movie is dark and serious, but again, does have humor.

Watch more in the video below.

“Doctor Strange” has a November 4, 2016 release starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Rachel McAdams, Tilda Swinton, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Mads Mikkelsen.

Synopsis:

“Doctor Strange” follows the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions.

“Doctor Strange” is the latest film in Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Phase 3’s goal—over the course of four years and nine films—is to introduce audiences to new heroes and continue the adventures of fan favorites.

Skull Island Image Teases Huge King Kong; Plot Details Revealed

It was previously said that Kong: Skull Island will feature the largest King Kong ever, and now we get an idea on just how big the great ape will be.

EW.com debuted the above Kong: Skull Island which features the skull of a giant ape as well as Tom Hiddleston and Brie Larson amidst the boneyard.

“From the size of the skull, you can tell that things on this island are much bigger than audiences are used to with traditional Kong lore,” director Jordan Vogt-Roberts offers. “Our Kong is by far the biggest Kong that you’ve seen on screen, and that translates to a lot of different things on the island.”

Vogt-Roberts continues with mention of specifics regarding the size of the new King Kong, but only teases it’s “much larger” than previous versions.

“In terms of actual size, our Kong is by far the biggest Kong,” he explains. “Peter Jackson’s Kong was around 25 feet. The ‘33 Kong ranged between 25 feet and 50 feet, I want to say he was 50-plus feet when he was on the Empire State Building. He varied in size dramatically! The ’70s Kong was somewhere between them.”

Plot details are also made known as well as Hiddleston and Larson’s characters:

“The film takes place in the ’70s,” he explains. “The ’70s was a time where it was believable that we could still be confronted with myth. And there was still unknown in the world.” At the start of the decade, NASA launched a satellite program later known as LANDSAT, which involved satellites mapping the world from space – the end of that “unknown.” In the film, “this island pops up,” leading the characters to investigate.

Hiddleston plays an ex-British SAS tracker; Larson is a war photographer, “who’s seen all sorts of terrible, terrible things.” Vogt-Roberts avoids any specific details about what they find on the island, but he’s adamant about what they don’t find. “We’re very explicitly not telling the beauty and the beast story,” he says. “The original is a classic, the ’70s version is great for what it is, and Peter’s version is a great retelling of the 1933 film.”

“The thing that most interested me was, how big do you need to make [Kong], so that when someone lands on this island and doesn’t believe in the idea of myth, the idea of wonder – when we live in a world of social and civil unrest, and everything is crumbling around us, and technology and facts are taking over – how big does this creature need to be, so that when you stand on the ground and you look up at it, the only thing that can go through your mind is: ‘That’s a god.’” Pretty big, we’re guessing? “You will see when we drop a trailer,”

Look for more about Kong: Skull Island at next week’s Comic-Con.

“Kong: Skull Island” has a March 10, 2017 release, with Godzilla Vs. King Kong released on May 29, 2020.

Tom Hiddleston Addresses Loki Departure Speculation

Will Thor: Ragnarok be Tom Hiddleston’s last time as Loki?

It’s currently unknown, but ET Online caught up with Hiddleston who addressed the possibility.

ET Online actually mentioned Thor 3 was Hiddleston’s last time as Loki, which saw Hiddleston correct them by stating “don’t believe everything you read.”

Hiddleston wouldn’t confirm if we’ll get more of Loki as he feels it’s best to keep it as a surprise.

“Did I? I don’t know if I did say that. Don’t believe everything you read,” Hiddleston said. “Well, here’s the thing. I love movies myself, and I love going  to see stuff, and I like to be surprised. So, I’m actually not going to tell you. I just prefer for the audience to be surprised.”

“Thor: Ragnarok” has a November 3, 2017 release also starring Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Karl Urban as Skurge, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, and Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie.

Tom Hiddleston Wants Loki Vs. Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange

While Tom Hiddleston previously stated Thor: Ragnarok might be the last time we see Loki, the good news is that Hiddleston recently hinted that’s not the case, and now says he would like to take on none other than fellow Brit star Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange

“In some hypothetical world, I don’t quite know when, for Loki and Dr. Strange to share the same frame would be very exciting indeed,” Hiddleston told the Daily News. “Because Benedict Cumberbatch is an old friend. So I would think it would be interesting to see who would get the upper hand.”

Hiddleston also again continues with mention of Loki’s future in the MCU, this time stating he knows what’s going on, but doesn’t offer specifics.

“Truthfully, I do actually know at the moment how many more times I’m going to play Loki, but I’m not going to tell you,” said Hiddleston. “It’s not personal it’s just keeping it fresh for all paying customers to enjoy their films. And also I’m the God of mischief so it’s my predisposition to play games.”

Tom Hiddleston will next be seen as Loki in Thor: Ragnarok, which has a November 3, 2017 release.

Good News: Tom Hiddleston Hints At More Loki

About a week ago saw Tom Hiddleston imply that Thor: Ragnarok might be his last Marvel movie.

Thor 3 will be cool because I’ve not done it for four years,” Hiddleston said, as quoted by the Daily Beast. “I love working with Chris [Hemsworth]. This will be my last time out of the gate.”

Now, however, that might simply have been Loki playing mind games with everyone.

In a new interview, Tom Hiddleston tells Hybable, “Don’t believe everything you read on the internet,” offering he doesn’t really want to spoil what’s going on with Marvel and Loki:

Honestly, Marco, I don’t know. It’s very difficult to be precise and specific in ways that people would like me to be. I understand the enthusiasm and the curiosity in the complexity and the detail of the Marvel universe as it transpires in movies. But I’m careful to feed that curiosity because I worry that in spite of the enthusiasm it diminishes the movies. If you know everything going in I just don’t want to know that information so I’m very hesitant to put it out there. I don’t want to spoil it for anybody. I knew about two years before it happened that Clark Gregg was killed in The Avengers and if I had ever let that information out it would have completely ruined the experience of watching The Avengers. So to your point, I may or may not know how many times I’m going to play Loki again but I’m not going to tell you. I’m not trying to be difficult.

When it comes to my relationship with Marvel, whenever I have said something it usually becomes expanded and misshapen and it then has no bearing to what I originally said at all. I have a pretty good sense of what my future with Marvel is but I don’t think it’s worth telling anyone because it may change. They are very smart over there and like any creative process, they are free to change their minds. Throughout the Marvel universe Loki has changed from movie to movie. Sometimes he’s even changed in the middle of movies in ways you may not even know.

Tom Hiddleston returns as Loki for Thor: Ragnarok on November 3, 2017.

So what would Loki be doing if he appeared in Captain America: Civil War? Tom Hiddleston has the answer:

“I think he would be sitting on a rooftop somewhere enjoying the fact that the children are squabbling. Going, ‘Ah! This is entertaining.’”

Hulk Confirmed For Avengers: Infinity Wars; Loki For Thor 3

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22740:]]

It’s recently been learned that Mark Ruffalo and the Hulk will be a part of Thor: Ragnarok, and now Ruffalo has confirmed the Hulk for the Avengers: Infinity War movies as well as Loki for Thor 3.

Regarding Loki, while it seems the inclusion of the Asgardian Trickster is a no-brainer, Tom Hiddleston recently questioned if he would be returning as he stated he hasn’t heard anything from Marvel in years; hasn’t heard about Thor 3, and also wondered if the fans wanted him back.

Now it appears we can all breathe a sigh of relief as Mark Ruffalo fills in USA Today that he has spoken with Thor 3 director Taika Waititi, and while Ruffalo doesn’t know story specifics, he does state Hulk, Thor and Loki will be in the movie.

I don’t know what the story is yet, but it’ll be (Loki) and Thor, and then I’ll be in there here and there. But I don’t know any of the particulars quite yet. I’ve talked to Taika a little bit and I like where it’s headed. … Chris (Hemsworth) and I have a really good time together, we goof off and play around when Tom Hiddleston is around. So it’ll be a lot of funny back-and-forth, especially with Taika, he does that really well. It’ll have that kind of antagonistic Odd Couple-thing going on.

As Hiddleston previously stated, it’s possible Marvel simply hasn’t informed him yet of the Thor 3 plans. Ray Stevenson and Zachary Levi, two members of the Warriors Three, haven’t heard from Marvel as well, but are expecting the call: “I’ve heard that it’s on the cards,” Stevenson told IGN. “As far as Volstagg is concerned, should he be called with his other Warriors Three to protect young Thor again, within a heart’s beat he will be there. So, I am waiting to hear. I’m very excited about the whole thing actually.” Likewise, Levi told CBR: “No, not at all. As far as I know, they are still writing the script. Once that’s all buttoned down, I’m sure they will be making the phone call to whatever actors are involved.”

The USA Today article also makes mention of the Hulk appearing in Avengers: Infinity War:

…he will resurface in the two-part Avengers: Infinity War sequels…

And Ruffalo comments on the possibility of a standalone Hulk movie:

“Actually, it feels even further away. It’s not Marvel’s property, it’s Universal’s property. I don’t know. It seems really problematic.”

“Thor: Ragnarok” has a November 3, 2017 release.

Tom Hiddleston Doesn’t Know About Thor 3

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22427:]]

With Tom Hiddleston starring in the upcoming Crimson Peak movie, while promoting the film, the actor has fielded questions regarding the future of Loki.

Hiddleston previously hinted Loki might not be back for Thor 3 and even questioned if fans wanted to see him return.

Now Hiddleston says more of the same and actually reveals he hasn’t spoken to Marvel in about two years, with the last time probably being when he filmed his small cameo that was cut for Avengers: Age Of Ultron.

“I think so. I mean, I don’t know,” Hiddleston responded when asked by Screen Rant if he will be back for Thor 3.

“No, they haven’t, so we’ll see [Laughter],” Hiddleston said about Marvel letting him know if he’s even in the film. “You know, I genuinely do not know. I wish there was something I could tell you. I haven’t spoken to anyone at Marvel for about two years. That universe is expanding at such a rate, so…your guess is as good as mine.”

A recent rumor did state that Loki and Hiddleston will be back, so at least there is that.

Crimson Peak has an October 16, 2015 release, with Thor: Ragnarok scheduled for a November 3, 2017 release.

Hulk Rumored For Thor 3

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22423:]]

Following The Avengers: Age Of Ultron, the exact whereabouts of the Hulk is currently unknown.

It was thought the Green Goliath would be appearing in Captain America: Civil War; however, that doesn’t seem to be the case.

So where will we see Banner next?

A new rumor has hit the net from JoBlo stating the Hulk will be in Thor: Ragnarok.

According to the report, Thor will team with the Hulk as Asgard faces a Norse Apocalypse.

The report further mentions that Tom Hiddleston will be back as Loki, as there seemed question as of late if Hiddleston was set to return; Jaimie Alexander is also said to be back as Sif.

It’s also said a “distant planet” is involved in Thor 3 that is “not Asgard and not Earth” which is speculated to possibly be the planet Sakaar where the Planet Hulk Marvel Comics storyline took place.

Regarding Mark Ruffalo, the actor is said to be absolutely part of the supporting cast of Thor 3 and will be featured prominently as Banner.

Thor: Ragnarok has a November 3, 2017 release.

Tom Hiddleston Reveals Why Loki Was Cut From Avengers 2 (Video)

Darn it all.

It turns out Loki’s Army is to blame for Tom Hiddleston being cut from The Avengers: Age Of Ultron after all.

Check out the above video where Hiddleston reveals why he was cut from Avengers 2.

Hiddleston says he filmed the Thor dream sequence for one day, but when test audiences viewed Loki in the scene, they figured Loki played a larger role in the movie and was responsible for Ultron.

Hiddleston offers that Joss Whedon and Kevin Feige came to the conclusion that having Loki in The Avengers 2 would be too confusing for people, as it changed their expectations, so they had to cut Hiddleston out.

So essentially the reason for Loki being cut is because he’s too popular.

There is also question if Tom Hiddleston will be back for Thor 3 as Hiddleston actually questioned if fans want him back as Loki, and he also said he isn’t sure when he’ll play the role again.

My response would be that if Marvel thinks Hiddleston and Loki have grown too big — would be to give him his own darn movie.
