Update: Tom Hiddleston hints at more Loki in two interviews: here and here.
The good news is that Tom Hiddleston will be back for Thor: Ragnarok. The bad news is it may be his last Marvel movie as Loki.
Tom Hiddleston spoke with the Daily Beast where he offered up Thor 3 is Loki’s last hurrah.
“Thor 3 will be cool because I’ve not done it for four years,” Hiddleston said. “I love working with Chris [Hemsworth]. This will be my last time out of the gate.”
Similar to our response to the news, and most likely everybody else, the Daily Beast seemed surprised and questioned Tom Hiddleston about The Avengers: Infinity War movies.
“I don’t know! Honestly, I don’t know,” Hiddleston responded with a shrug. “They haven’t got their ducks in a row yet. They make it up as they go along.”
At one time, Tom Hiddleston actually questioned if he was even coming back for Thor 3, and there is the fact that Marvel cut Hiddleston from The Avengers 2 as well, which is after Marvel first said Hiddleston wasn’t available, only for director Joss Whedon to hunt Hiddleston down himself and ask the actor to appear, which Hiddleston did. However, Marvel still ended up cutting Loki from the Thor dream sequence in Age Of Ultron.
Back following the first Avengers movie, there was lots of talk amongst the fans for a Loki solo movie. How times have changed.
Thor: Ragnarok has a November 3, 2017 release also starring Mark Ruffalo.
