Jared Leto Getting A Hair Cut For Joker

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19446:]]

Yesterday saw Suicide Squad director David Ayer tease “something will happen tomorrow.”

Well, tomorrow is here, and now the latest tweet from Ayer suggests Jared Leto may be getting a hair cut to play Joker.

Ayer posted an image of Leto with a ponytail and scissors asking, “Should we?”

It’s unclear if that is the “reveal” Ayer was talking about or if we’ll possibly get a first look at Leto as the Joker or a look at any members of the cast.

Suicide Squad has been said to start filming in Toronto in April, so it’s possible WB may reveal a look at the cast soon.

Ayer also previously tweeted Suicide Squad is set in the same universe as Batman Vs. Superman and also that Zack Snyder is onboard as producer.

Regarding Leto’s Joker, Ayer described him as “majestic.”

Update: Leto has indeed received a hair cut and also a shave.

“Suicide Squad” has an August 5, 2016 release date starring Will Smith as Deadshot, Jared Leto as the Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Jai Courtney as Boomerang and Viola Davis is playing Amanda Waller.

Margot Robbie Signs Multi-Picture Deal For Harley Quinn

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19346:]]

In a no-brainer (and possible spoiler), Margot Robbie has signed a multi-picture deal to play Harley Quinn.

Robbie will first play Harley Quinn for David Ayer in Suicide Squad, which starts filming this Spring in Toronto.

“You don’t need to have commitment issues to be frightened by the fact that you might have just signed 10 years of your life away,” Robbie told AZCentral. “But with her, it’s a character I don’t think would ever get boring. Ever. So if they did ‘Suicide Squad One,’ ‘Two’ and ‘Three,’ I would be over the moon about it.”

Obviously with Margot Robbie signing a multi-picture deal and hoping for sequels, the character of Harley Quinn survives Suicide Squad.

Suicide Squad has an August 5, 2016 release date also starring Will Smith as Deadshot, Jared Leto as the Joker, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Jai Courtney as Boomerang and Viola Davis is playing Amanda Waller.

Margot Robbie stars in Focus with Will Smith out this Friday.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting the first trailer for Batman Vs. Superman. Is it possible the trailer will be released next Friday with Focus?

Will Smith & Margot Robbie Talk Suicide Squad’s Rick Flagg

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19130:]]

Tom Hardy was originally set to play Rick Flagg in the David Ayer-directed Suicide Squad movie; however, Hardy left the project.

Then it was said Jake Gyllenhaal passed as well, and the current rumors are stating Karl Urban is up for the role.

Now USA Today catches up with Will Smith and Margot Robbie on the set of their latest movie Focus.

“We’ve still got to get it right, Smith said.

“This happens all the time,” Robbie added. “People act like, ‘Oh my god, the movie must be ending!’ It’s just the deal with movies.” [Not to mention] a lot of the characters haven’t been portrayed before so it’s a pretty big undertaking. And it’s a big undertaking for the people who are going to play the characters who have been played, like the Joker (to be played by Jared Leto). It’s big shoes to fill.”

“[David Ayer] turned the screenplay in before Christmas,” Smith continued. “What happens is Hollywood shuts down. But he was still working and he wanted to (start shooting) April 13th. So it takes a couple weeks to gear back up at the top of the year and people have taken (other) movies. He’s moving really quickly.”

Robbie agrees: “It’s almost impossible to get a movie all together when there are two main cast members, let alone an ensemble cast with everyone’s schedules. It’s crazy if it works out.”

Suicide Squad Rumors Include Karl Urban and More

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:18953:]]

Another day, another batch of Suicide Squad rumors.

With Tom Hardy bailing on the role of Rick Flag, names of actors said to be in contention have been hitting the net.

The latest comes from JoBlo, who states Karl Urban is being eyed for the role of a younger Rick Flag.

Apparently, Suicide Squad may have Rick Flag Sr. and Jr.; up for Rick Flag Sr. is said to be Ed Harris and Max Martini.

General Lane, Lois’ father, is also mentioned, with Gary Sinise possibly up for that role, which as noted would be a nice connection to Man of Steel and Superman.

Joe Manganiello is again said to be the first choice for Deathstroke; new details mention Deathstroke is a hired assassin competing with the Suicide Squad and not a part of the team.

The Joker is said to be inspired by Hannibal Lecter with scars all over his body from battles with Batman. It’s said The Joker plays mind games with people and twists their minds.

Info for the Enchantress states the character is “really powerful” and is instrumental in the film’s prison riot/breakout finale.

The Batman cameo that was previously rumored is said to feature Batman on a security camera, with an appearance by Ben Affleck dependent on his schedule.

I’ll also throw out that Jesse Eisenberg is rumored to appear as Lex Luthor, and how he could fit in the movie is that he partners up with the head of the Suicide Squad, Amanda Waller, as they both don’t like the Justice League (got the idea from watching the Justice League cartoon last night).

Suicide Squad has an August 6, 2016 release directed by David Ayer starring Jared Leto as The Joker, Will Smith as Deadshot, Jai Courtney as Boomerang, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress and Viola Davis is said to be up for Amanda Waller.

Margot Robbie Talks Harley Quinn, Joker & Suicide Squad (Video)

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:18874:]]

Margot Robbie is set to play Harley Quinn and join the Suicide Squad.

MTV recently caught up with the actress to get her thoughts on playing the part.

“Yeah, I guess it’s intimidating because there’s obviously a lot of people I want to please, and a character I have to do justice,” Robbie said, “but it’s a challenge, I’m definitely up for it, and hopefully I don’t disappoint.”

Margo Robbie is also asked if she knows the voice of Harley Quinn (as Tara Strong is strongly associated with voice of the character).

“We haven’t gotten too far into it, we’re still pretty far off…” Robbie continued. “I’m actually shooting a movie before that, so my focus is kind of on that at the moment, we haven’t really gotten into the logistics of everything yet.”

Margot Robbie also comments on Jared Leto getting cast as the new Joker.

“Great, great co-star,” Robbie said. “Big shoes to fill, but he going to do his best.”

Jake Gyllenhaal Passes On Suicide Squad, Too

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:18832:]]

Following Tom Hardy’s departure from the Suicide Squad movie, Jake Gyllenhaal was said to be big favorite to replace Hardy and play Rick Flagg.

Now it’s learned that Jake Gyllenhaal has passed on the role as well, as reported by Variety.

According to rumor, it was stated Tom Hardy passed because he didn’t like the script, which didn’t give him enough screentime. It was also said more room in the script was written for Will Smith and Jared Leto.

No reason was given for Jake Gyllenhaal not wanting to be a part of the movie, but we can guess he wasn’t thrilled with the script as well.

It might even be possible that Rick Flagg gets killed off in the movie, as this is the Suicide Squad and members are known to die off rather quickly (at least in the comics).

While David Ayer looks to find Tom Hardy’s replacement, Suicide Squad will star Jared Leto as The Joker, Will Smith as Deadshot, Jai Courtney as Boomerang, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn and Cara Delevingne as Enchantress. Viola Davis is said to be in talks to play Amanda Waller; Jesse Eisenberg is rumored to follow his Batman vs. Superman debut as Lex Luthor, and most recently, Ben Affleck is rumored to appear as Batman.

Batman & Ben Affleck Rumored For Suicide Squad

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:18817:]]

It’s being speculated/rumored that Batman will appear in the Suicide Squad movie.

A blogger for Forbes is stating he is hearing Batman and Ben Afflek may appear at the end of Suicide Squad involved with The Joker, which would lead into solo Batman films also starring The Joker.

A second rumor that surfaced says the Joker will escape from prison in the Suicide Squad movie.

If we put two and two together, we see how Batman is involved.

The rumor isn’t all that original as the Joker escaping from prison with Batman in pursuit follows Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns graphic novel storyline, which is the inspiration for Batman Vs. Superman.

The blogger does note, of course, that nothing is set in stone.

Jared Leto is set to play The Joker and recently stated that “Batman is Dead” when a fan remarked that Batman is an unseen hero.

Tom Hardy is also said to have left Suicide Squad, possibly over not agreeing with the amount of screentime for his character, Rick Flagg, and disliking the script.

Suicide Squad has an August 6, 2016 release directed by David Ayer.

New Joker Jared Leto Says Batman Is Dead?!

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:18811:]]

2016 will see the new Joker, played by Jared Leto, in the Suicide Squad movie.

It’s not been confirmed the movie will feature Batman, but Joker is already up to his old tricks.

While participaing in a chat on Vyrt, a fan mentioned that Batman was an unseen hero.

Leto’s reply to the fan?

“Batman is dead.”

Obviously, Jared Leto doesn’t mean Batman is really dead, but more than likely Leto is just talking smack meaning that there is a new Joker in town.

New Batman Ben Affleck debuts in Batman Vs. Superman, which hits March 25, 2016. Suicide Squad featuring Jared Leto as the Joker hits five months later. I wonder if Zack Snyder will reference Joker in Batman Vs. Superman?

Tom Hardy Left Suicide Squad Because Of The Script

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:18750:]]

When Warner Bros. officially announced the cast of the Suicide Squad movie maybe red flags should have gone up as how is the movie going to find the time to accommodate all the actors with enough screentime?

Well, that seems to be exactly the problem as recently it became known that Tom Hardy had dropped out of Suicide Squad.

While scheduling issues were cited as the reason, now it’s being said that Tom Hardy wasn’t happy with the script and screentime.

According to Latino Review, when Tom Hardy signed on to Suicide Squad, he had yet to read the script.

However, once the full cast officially came together, it’s said the script was tweaked to given Will Smith and Jared Leto more screentime.

So when Tom Hardy finally got ahold of the finished script and saw what he perceived as not enough screentime for his character, Rick Flagg, he bailed.

With Tom Hardy out of the picture, Jake Gyllenhall had said to be a potential replacement.

Suicide Squad has an August 6, 2016 release directed by David Ayer starring Jared Leto as The Joker, Will Smith as Deadshot, Jai Courtney as Boomerang, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, and Jesse Eisenberg is rumored to follow his Batman vs. Superman debut as Lex Luthor.

Tom Hardy Drops Out Of Suicide Squad; Jake Gyllenhaal Eyed As Replacement

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:18750:]]

Citing a scheduling conflict, it’s reported that Tom Hardy has dropped out of the Suicide Squad movie.

Various Hollywood trade sites are stating David Ayer wants Jake Gyllenhaal to play Hardy’s role of Rick Flagg.

Apparently, Hardy was forced to bail from Suicide Squad due to the current movie he is filming, The Revenant, going over schedule into mid-March. Hardy also has to promote the new Mad Max: Fury Road movie, and with Suicide Squad set to begin filming in April, it’s stated Hardy won’t have time to play Rick Flagg, the leader of the Suicide Squad.

Jake Gyllenhaal is not yet confirmed, but he did previously work with David Ayer in End Of Watch.

The Suicide Squad movie is set for an August 6, 2016 release.

Also starring in Suicide Squad are: Jared Leto as The Joker, Will Smith as Deadshot, Jai Courtney as Boomerang, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Viiola Davis as Amanda Waller, and Jesse Eisenberg is rumored to follow his Batman vs. Superman debut as Lex Luthor.

Viola Davis Confirms Amanda Waller For Suicide Squad Movie

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:18394:]]

Confirming an earlier rumor, Viola Davis recently spoke about playing Amanda Waller in the upcoming Suicide Squad movie.

Viola Davis recently did some press for Blackhat where she was asked about Suicide Squad.

“Not yet,” Davis replied to Nerd Report when asked if she had started to read the Suicide Squad comic books. “I have not started reading them yet. I’ve read up about her but I’m working out my schedule for Suicide Squad.

“I’m fascinated by her,” Davids continued. “I’m fascinated by her in this world of superhero-ness because she is not a woman that you would expect. I think that she is a massive contradiction. She’s this big powerful black woman, hard, ready to pick up a gun and shoot anyone at will. I’m fascinated in exploring her psychology, just put it that way. And I’m excited to pick up a gun.”

In the comics, Amanda Waller is the government liaison in charge of the Suicide Squad, which is a group of villains coerced into working as a team.

Viola Davis joins Jared Leto as The Joker, Will Smith as Deadshot, Tom Hardy as Rick Flagg, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtey as playing Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, and Jesse Eisenberg is rumored to follow his Batman vs. Superman debut as Lex Luthor.

Review: Suicide Squad #7

The “Hunt For Harley Quinn” storyline wraps up this issue with a dramatic conclusion that will leave you breathless! Not only that, Adam Glass gives us Harley’s secret origin in which we witness just how far one has to fall in order to survive life with the Joker!

Did someone say Joker? This book is the only place you can actually see more of the Joker than just his torn off face hanging on a wall! Not that you won’t see that flapping piece of flesh in this book either, because you will, but you are finally witness to The New 52 version of one of DC’s most maniacal villains. And the things he does to impress the girls is a little over the edge!

But that is what this book is all about! Suicide Squad revolves around a cast of villains, recruited by Amanda Waller, to do jobs that are just too dirty for anyone else to do. And if they happen to get out of line? Boom!! The nano bombs in their blood explode into a fiery mess, leaving an opening on the squad for new blood. Adam Glass has taken the classic concept of this “team” book and thrown out the rule book! It is a viscous, brutal book teeming with excitement and, at times — hilarity! Glass really draws you into these characters. He creates an aura of desperation where not only do you want to see what the characters do best, in all it’s bloody glory, but you actually root for them to survive every mission. And that therein lies the rub! This book, especially this issue, sees a lot of characters perish from beginning frame to end panel. Some you are shocked by the demented way Glass achieves his goal, while others, characters we have grown quite fond of — we are completely astounded by! This book will rock you each and every month!

Adam Glass is as insane as his cast of characters and when you read this issue, you will completely agree with me! But that is what makes this book so damn fun! Crazy clowns, assassins, exploding heads, killer sharks and — the Joker! Everything you need for a cozy night in!

2. Suicide Squad #7:  We get to see Harley Quinn’s full “New 52” origin in this one and it ain’t pretty, kids! Adam Glass pulls no punches and that’s perfectly fine by me!

3. Lobster Johnson: The Burning Hand #3 (of 5):  Our pulp hero has to confront the diabolical Black Flame! But Lobster may have been overconfident in his abilities as he watches an ally fall! Great book!

4. Avengers #24:  This might have been a little too fast paced but it is still pretty damn good! Bendis finally reveals just how good ol’ Norman Osborn can take on the Avengers all on his own! Can anyone say, “Corn roll Hulk”?

5. Wolverine and the X-Men #7: Jason Aaron is insane! This book has a little bit of everything that no one would have ever put together! Plus, a new student will have to become something they have fought so hard to never become — a killer!

Harley Quinn has broken out of Belle Reeve prison, and Amanda Waller will not let that jeopardize her plans for the Task Force X program. “Suicide Squad” has been given their orders — bring Harley back any way you can!

Adam Glass is insane! Thank the Lord for that! This book is riddled with bullets and blood, midget clowns and man-eating sharks, and yes the rumors are true — good olpuddin‘ is thrown in there, too! The Joker has finally made his full debut in the new DCnU, not just a skinned face pinned to a wall! And even though it is through flashbacks that we see our insane fiend, it is well worth it!

Though the hype has been about the Joker’s appearance, it is the origin of Harley Quinn that is the most intriguing part of this book. What could ever make Dr. Harleen Quinzel into one of the most deranged characters in the DCnU? Glass gives us an intense analyzation of how a devious mind can sift through your thoughts, finding the triggers within that will change you forever. The back and forth between Harley and the Joker is pitch perfect, leaving you with the feeling of two caged animals eyeing each other for weaknesses. A well played chess match that will leave one of them scarred and both of them smitten.

Adam Glass may well be insane, but his writing is completely engrossing. From the Harley horde to the eventual realization as to where Harley is truly going, Glass gives us an emotional roller coaster that is coated slick with blood! Not only does he create a solid tale of mayhem for his own book, he even intertwines storylines that are concurrently going on in Stormwatch, Green Arrow and Detective Comics! Amazing!

This is my “fun” pick of the week! It has everything a favorite comic needs to let you escape from reality for awhile. Guns, girls, razors, bullets, Siamese cross dressers — you name it, and Glass throws it in! But enough about what I think, get this book and enjoy one hell of a ride!

Advanced Review: Suicide Squad #3

I have read every incarnation of Suicide Squad and Adam Glass' take is hands down — the best version ever! Some may say that this is just an action junkie book, filled with third tier characters that no one even cares about. But it is so much more than that! It is an intriguing espionage book,
