We all knew it was coming, but check out the twist on the return of Robbie Amell as Firestorm.

Obvious spoiler warning.

A Canadian Twitter account has posted a set photo from Vancouver that shows Robbie Amell back as Firestorm; however, it’s not the the Robbie Amell Firestorm we are used to — it’s the Earth 2 version!

Apparently the set image is from a future episode of The Flash. It’s also thought Robbie Amell may be appearing on DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow.

Update: EP Andrew Kreisberg reveals Robbie Amell will be the Earth-2 version known as — Deathstorm! (via EW)

“We are beyond excited to have Robbie back on The Flash,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg tells EW. “You can’t keep a good Firestorm down. Only this time, he’s back with a twist, a deadly Earth-Two version of our beloved Ronnie in the form of Deathstorm.”

THE CW GIVES VIEWERS AN EXCLUSIVE LOOK ACROSS DC COMICS WITH TWO ALL-NEW SPECIALS, “DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW: THEIR TIME IS NOW” AND “DC FILMS PRESENTS: DAWN OF THE JUSTICE LEAGUE,” PREMIERING TUESDAY, JAN. 19

The World Premiere of the New Trailer for “Suicide Squad” to Debut During “Dawn of the Justice League” Special

It’s a full night of action from DC Comics on Tuesday, January 19, 2016, as The CW presents two all-new half-hour specials, DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW: THEIR TIME IS NOW (9:00-9:30pm ET/PT), and DC FILMS PRESENTS: DAWN OF THE JUSTICE LEAGUE (9:30-10:00pm ET/PT), which features the world premiere of the new trailer for the upcoming feature film “Suicide Squad.” The specials will premiere following an original episode of THE FLASH (8:00-9:00pm ET/PT).

DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW: THEIR TIME IS NOW is an in-depth look at the origin stories of the heroes and villains of the highly-anticipated new series, DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW, premiering Thursday, January 21, 2016 (8:00-9:00pm ET/PT). Featuring show clips and interviews from LEGENDS, ARROW, and THE FLASH executive producers Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, Andrew Kreisberg, Phil Klemmer, and Wendy Mericle, THEIR TIME IS NOW introduces viewers to the immortal madman Vandal Savage, the time master Rip Hunter, and the motley band of heroes and rogues he assembles to try to save the future of humanity: Hawkman, Hawkgirl, White Canary, The Atom, Firestorm, Captain Cold, and Heat Wave.

DC FILMS PRESENTS: DAWN OF THE JUSTICE LEAGUE invites viewers behind the scenes of the exciting new movies coming out of the DC Films universe, culminating in the thrilling world premiere of the all-new trailer for “Suicide Squad,” DC’s misfit crew of antiheroes forced into saving the world this summer, with director David Ayer.  Hosted by filmmaker/writer/lifelong comics fan Kevin Smith, with special guest DC Entertainment’s Geoff Johns, the special showcases the explosive landscape of DC’s greatest heroes, kicking off with “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” in theatres this March, and with a sneak peek from the upcoming Wonder Woman feature film.

Get a look at never-before-seen footage, and see interviews with such stars as Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot, and directors Zack Snyder and Patty Jenkins—just a few of the creative forces behind the much-anticipated film franchise that will bring together the greatest collective of Super Heroes in the upcoming Justice League feature film.  And because no Super Hero could make his or her mark without a truly formidable foe, the special also provides glimpses of DC’s most famous Super Villains.

DC Comics Announces New DC Legends Of Tomorrow Series

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23255:]]

In conjunction with the new series, DC Comics has announced a related comic book anthology series for DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow.

Info:

It’s four powerhouse tales in one colossal comic, as some of comics’ most legendary talents launch new tales of Firestorm, Metamorpho, Metal Men and Sugar and Spike—that’s right, Sugar and Spike!

This new anthology series will reunite several characters from DC Comics’ rich history with the writers that made them fan favorites: Gerry Conway returns to Firestorm, Len Wein will handle the writing chores on Metal Men, Aaron Lopresti will pen Metamorpho, while the always interesting Keith Giffen puts his own unique spin on one of DC’s more offbeat titles, Sugar & Spike.

FIRESTORM, written by Gerry Conway with art by Eduardo Pansica and Rob Hunter:
Firestorm is back! To save Jason Rausch, Firestorm will need to retrieve Danton Black’s stolen research from Professor Stein’s lab. But if Jason can’t fuse with Ronnie by the Firestorm Protocol…who can?

METAL MEN, written by Len Wein with art by Yildiray Cinar and Trevor Scott:
Doctor Will Magnus’ Metal Men may be the next step in robotics technology, but when the mysterious cyber-terrorist known only as Nameless comes after them, they may have met their match!

METAMORPHO, written by Aaron Lopresti with art by Aaron Lopresti and Matt Banning:
Metamorpho—a prisoner of millionaire industrialist Simon Stagg! Now, the only person who can save him is Stagg’s beautiful daughter, Sapphire!? But can they defeat Stagg’s prehistoric bodyguard, Java?

SUGAR & SPIKE, written by Keith Giffen with art by Bilquis Evely:
The last time we saw Sugar and Spike, they were still in diapers! Now, they’re grown up, and they’ve become private investigators who specialize in cleaning up embarrassing problems for the DCU’s greatest heroes. Sugar & Spike’s first assignment: retrieve a cache of Batman’s retired costumes that have been stolen by Killer Moth!

LEGENDS OF TOMORROW #1, with cover artwork by Aaron Lopresti (see gallery above) will be on sale March 9th, 2016 with 80 pages at $7.99 US.

Robbie Amell To Return As Firestorm For DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23233:]]

It’s probably a safe bet to say that Robbie Amell will be back as Firestorm.

Amell was seemingly killed off in Season 2 of The Flash, probably because of his stint in the upcoming X-Files series, but now that filming on X-Files is over, it looks as if Amell will be back as Firestorm.

About two months ago saw Robbie Amell tease his return to the character, and now Victor Garber has seemingly confirmed Robbie Amell for DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

Victor Garber, who plays the other half of Firestorm, Dr. Stein, posted an image of himself with Amell on Instagram, including Robbie Amell and the DC’s Legends of Tomorrow account in on the post: “Reunited and it feels so good.”

Likewise, Robbie Amell posted the image on his own Instagram account with “Dinner with the ex” as well as an image of the Firestorm containment unit, adding: “Hello old friend.”

Check out the Instagram posts below.

DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow debuts January 21st. Presently replacing Robbie Amell as Firestorm is Franz Drameh as Jax Jackson.

DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow Rumored For One Season; More On Flash & Supergirl

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23053:]]

This past Thanksgiving saw a batch of DC TV rumors hit the net stating Constantine is going to be a part of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Season 2, as well as The Flash appearing on Supergirl.

Now a couple of days later some things have changed.

According to the originator of the rumors, Bleeding Cool, the Constantine rumor might not hold true as another “source” is going so far as to state there may not even be a Season 2 for DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. The thought behind that rumor is the series is said to be incredibly expensive, and they are not sure if they will go ahead with a second season, but instead will go with a totally new series of some kind.

IMO, the DC’s Legends of Tomorrow rumors more or less seem as just simply ideas being tossed around, than anything else that would be of merit.

Regarding The Flash and Supergirl, the good news is that the original rumor is still holding true (at this time), with it said the storyline may involve an arc from the DC Comics Supergirl comic book about New Krypton, which saw 100,000 Kryptonians come to Earth after Brainiac freed them from the bottle city of Kandor, with a new planet being built for them. I believe the EP’s of Supergirl and Flash/Arrow said initially there wouldn’t be a crossover, but it seems that Supergirl‘s ratings have dipped a bit, so they may want to connect it to The Flash, which is a pretty popular show and character right now.

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23049:]]

We get a pair of DC TV rumors for this Thanksgiving as it’s being said that not only will Grant Gust guest star as The Flash in CBS’ Supergirl, but that Constantine has been saved.

According to Bleeding Cool, a “Thanksgiving Day source” has filled them in that Grant Gustin will appear as The Flash next May in Supergirl.

Regarding Constantine, it’s said that the cast of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will be switched up each Season, with Matt Ryan set to return as Constantine as a series regular for Season 2 of DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow in 2017.

Another tidbit notes Steven R McQueen will be cast as a new hero for Season 2 of DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow. McQueen was previously vying to play Nightwing.

New DC TV Series In The Works? “That’s Super Cool” Says Stephen Amell

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23024:]]

It looks like we may have a new DC TV series in development as it’s learned from a live Facebook chat with Stephen Amell and Robbie Amell that casting director David Rapaport is involved with a new project.

To be clear, it’s unknown if it’s for a DC TV series, but we’re speculating based on what was said in the video (watch below).

David Rapaport is the casting director for Arrow, The Flash, DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow and Supergirl.

Stephen Amell introduced Rapaport in the video with Robbie Amell spilling the news.

“Ladies and gentleman this is David Rapaport, casting director of Arrow, Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, The Tomorrow People, Supergirl…” Stephen Amell said before Robbie Amell chimed in.

“There’s a new one,” Robbie Amell said.

“There is,” Rapaport confirmed.

“Oh, you can’t announce it,” Robbie Amell teased. “Good thing I didn’t mention it [laughs].”

Stephen Amell didn’t know what the new show was, but Robbie Amell whispered something in his cousin’s ear.

“That’s super cool!” Stephen Amell said.

“You guys are going to love it,” Rapaport offered.

Any ideas what the new series could be, assuming it’s DC?

Maybe Superboy?

Update: It’s learned Supergirl is casting a young Superman.

Robbie Amell X-Files Spinoff Rumored

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22753:]]

Robbie Amell will be featured in the upcoming six-episode return of the X-Files playing Agent Miller, who happens to be paired (a la Mulder and Scully) with Lauren Ambrose, aka Agent Einstein.

Now it’s being speculated a possible X-Files spinoff may be happening, or at least it was.

TV Line reports the X-Files spinoff was potentially in the works seeing Amell and Ambrose as new alien-hunting FBI agents, with it even suggested the return of the X-Files series doubled as a backdoor pilot for the new Amell/Ambrose series.

However, the report notes the spinoff may have “gone the way of the Smoking Man” meaning it could be dead (or could potentially still happen). It’s noted series creator Chris Carter didn’t deny the notion of a potential spinoff being developed as part of the new six episode run while at the recent New York Comic-Con.

Possible clues as to the potential future of the X-Files spinoff may lie with The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow. Robbie Amell starred as Firestorm in The Flash, but when the CW announced DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow, Amell’s name was noticeably absent from playing the other half of Dr. Stein. Most recently also saw Robbie Amell’s character killed off in The Flash, with a new Firestorm taking over, which would seem to indicate that Robbie Amell had left The Flash because of X-Files.

However, Amell recently teased he will be back as Firestorm, which may now indicate the X-Files spinoff is not happening.

It’s possible FOX may have decided against moving forward with an X-Files spinoff, but instead, may be doing more episodes with David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson (assuming Amell and Ambrose were going to take over the franchise).

Of course, the other possibility is that Fox simply has decided to stick with one X-Files series starring Mulder and Scully.

“X-Files” premiers with a special two-night event beginning Sunday, Jan. 24 following the NFC Championship Game, and continuing with its time period premiere on Monday, Jan. 25 (8/7c).
