Henry Cavill Says Superman Is Better Than Captain America

The DC vs. Marvel Flame Wars have officially begun.

Following comments made by Chris Evans that no one can copy a Marvel movie, now Henry Cavill fires back on Facebook by stating Superman is better than Captain America, and uses an image of Scarlett Johansson to get his point across.

Cavill posted an image of himself as Clark Kent with a microphone holding it up to an advertisement with Johansson’s image.

“Reporting in from the Huawei P9 launch event in Shanghai and according to my sources Superman is indeed better than Captain America,” Cavill added, along with tagging the post with: “#P9 #Huawei #Shanghai #ScarlettJohansson Chris Evans #girlscoutcookies.”

Regarding Evans’ comments, he recently said about Marvel: “They’ve got a monopoly on it, they’re doing it and no one else can try and copy it.”

The battle between Captain America and Superman will officially come to a head when Captain America: Civil War opens May 6th. Batman Vs. Superman saw a huge opening weekend with $166 million. Will Cap be able to top that?

Henry Cavill has also started filming on Justice League, which opens November 17, 2017.

While Cosmic Book News is siding with Team Cap for Civil War, we might have to go with Team Superman when it comes to the battle of the boy scouts.

Captain America: Civil War 100% At Rotten Tomatoes

I generally like to steer clear of all the advanced reviews, but I couldn’t help taking a peek at Rotten Tomatoes for the Captain America: Civil War rating.

While only 15 reviews are presently counted, Captain America: Civil War is off to a good start with every review favorable and the movie currently at 100% postive. Likewise, 99% of the audience wants to see the movie.

This is a big contrast compared to the early reviews for Batman Vs. Superman, which were all negative. Currently, Batman Vs. Superman is at a paltry 28%, with 69% of audiences stating they liked it.

It will be intersting to see what the box office numbers are for Captain America: Civil War.  Will it beat Batman Vs. Superman‘s opening weekend of $166 million?

First Look A Daniel Bruhl As Baron Zemo In Captain America: Civil War

Marvel released a first look at Daniel Bruhl as Baron Zemo in Captain America: Civil War as the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly has new images from the movie.

The actual image of Bruhl isn’t too spoilerish as all it reveals is Bruhl in his civies. It’s unknown if Bruhl dons the classic Baron Zemo costume from the comics in the movie.

Info shared by the article:

As Helmut Zemo, Daniel Brühl is a mysterious, manipulative figure who is positioning the heroes against each other. Why? We know, but can’t say. It’s too much of a spoiler. This character is a significant variation on the cackling, purple-masked Baron Zemo from the Marvel Comics, who led a group that called itself the Masters of Evil. (No mystery about their intentions there.) “He’s still similar to what you know of Zemo, a revenge character,” Joe Russo says.

Hulk Almost Made It Into Captain America: Civil War Post-Credits Scene

It’s learned Mark Ruffalo and the Hulk almost made it into Captain America: Civil War.

Throughtout filming of Captain America: Civil War there were a lot of rumors and speculation that the Hulk might make an appearance.

Mark Ruffalo was said to be spotted in Germany with the cast, Robert Downey Jr. teased Ruffalo’s involvement, and Anthony Mackie even made it sound as if the Hulk was in Captain America: Civil War.

Now Captain America: Civil War writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely set the record straight regarding the Hulk.

It’s learned Mark Ruffalo wasn’t in Germany, but the unit publicist on Captain America: Civil War was mistaken to be Ruffalo as the two look alike.

The writers do note they talked about using the Hulk and even had an idea for a Captain America: Civil War post-credit scene with the Hulk, but on second thought, decided not to do it just to add in another character.

“We can clean that up real quickly,” said Markus. “Mark Ruffalo shot no scenes. We talked about having Bruce Banner at the very end of the film, and it just, again, seemed like we’re sticking people in just to stick them in. He has clearly gone somewhere at the end of ‘Ultron,’ and that’s a story. Don’t blow it off and put it in a little tiny chunk just to put in a little extra filigree on our movie. That’s a story.”

McFeely added, “There was a draft with a stinger of him in it. But that was long ago, and reports of him actually filming stuff — the unit publicist on the movies [John M. Pisani] looks a lot like Ruffalo, so when people say, ‘Hey, he’s in Berlin dancing with Anthony Mackie,’ it’s John Pisani. It’s not Ruffalo.”

Another character that almost made it into Captain America: Civil War was Wasp.

Mark Ruffalo and the Hulk can next be seen along Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston in Thor: Ragnarok.
