Watch: Animated Batman Vs. Superman Trailer Done In Bruce Timm’s Style

Check out a cool animated version of the recent Batman Vs. Superman trailer which was done in the style of the Bruce Timm animated series.

The animated footage is all original, with the JTS Entertainment YouTube channel artist noting he has been drawing in this style since he was a toddler.

When the “Batman v Superman” trailer came out, people started parodying and copying it like wildfire. I decided to join in the shenanigans. I have been drawing in Bruce Timm’s famed DC Animated Universe style since the age of 0 and am currently working on a DCAU webcomic with fellow superhero enthusiast Ted Kendrick. Be on the lookout for it in the coming months!

WB’s Justice League Universe Under Pressure To Perform

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20289:]]

Warner Bros. is feeling the pressure from Hollywood and investors in regards to its planned Justice League shared universe, according to an article at THR.

With Disney and Marvel Studios being such a success, will WB be able to follow along a similar path and match the near $7 billion that Disney has generated since 2008 with the Marvel movies?

While Marvel has Kevin Feige at the helm, WB seems to be leaderless as shake-ups recently occurred which saw Jeff Robinov (Dark Knight Trilogy, Harry Potterleaving for Sony and Kevin Tsujihara coming on board. Tsujihara, at the recent CinemanCon, even seemed to mention he might not be with WB in the near future. Add to that, the failure of the Green Lantern movie and the lukewarm reception to Man of Steel only fueling the fire, and WB’s shared Justice League universe isn’t a sure bet.

The article at THR specifically questions both the Wonder Woman and Aquaman movies in development. Director Michelle MacLaren recently departed Wonder Woman over creative differences where it became known that WB has five separate writers working on scripts for the film (now said to be down to two), which apparently doesn’t sit too well with Hollywood agents that rep the writers. An insider said the process on Wonder Woman is “unorthodox” with still another adding it “felt like they were throwing shit against the wall to see what stuck.” Regarding Aquaman, the article states WB has three separate writers on the movie, with it said the the writing process is on hold until WB is “ready to proceed.”

“Marvel has been an unbelievable platform for Disney to build and foster franchises,” BTIG analyst Richard Greenfield said. “The question for Warners is, can they replicate that strategy using DC?”

“They just haven’t been thorough about their whole world and how each character fits and how to get the most out of each writer’s time by giving them direction,” said a rep with knowledge of the process, according to the article. “Obviously, Marvel’s very good at that.”

“You can’t just give it to a filmmaker,” said a reported Marvel insider. “You have to give it to someone who has an institutional knowledge of these characters.”

It’s not all doom and gloom for WB though, as Zack Snyder is said to have presented his vision for the DC Cinematic Universe to investors which analyst Michael Nathanson found “very impressive.” However, Nathanson did say he is taking a careful approach.

“Embedded in my earnings forecast [for Time Warner] is some estimate of success for DC, but I would say we’re conservative in our outlook,” he said. “I’m not giving anyone credit for a movie until we see the product.”

DC Movie Universe schedule:

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice  (March 25, 2016)

Suicide Squad (August 5, 2016)

Wonder Woman starring Gal Gadot (2017)

Justice League Part One  (2017)

The Flash starring Ezra Miller (2018)

Aquaman starring Jason Momoa (2018)

Shazam starring Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam (2019)

• Justice League Part Two directed by Zack Snyder (2019)

Cyborg starring Ray Fisher (2020)

Jared Leto Rumored For Batman Vs. Superman; Batmobile In Toronto For Suicide Squad

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20278:]]

Now it’s being rumored that Jared Leto will actually first appear as Joker in Batman Vs. Superman, which precedes Suicide Squad by five months.

Latino Review is stating that Joker will be featured in a flashback scene for Batman Vs. Superman, which possibly explains why he is imprisoned in the Suicide Squad movie.

It’s said Joker will be seen in the flashback killing Jason Todd.

It also appears as if Ben Affleck may have more than a cameo in Suicide Squad as now, apparently, the Batmobile was spotted in Toronto (though unconfirmed).

Watch: Neil deGrasse Tyson Weighs In On Batman Vs. Superman

Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson recently appeared on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart where he weighed in on the Batman Vs. Superman debate.

Jon Stewart seems to think Superman would win as Batman is just a guy with a “nice belt.”

Tyson then goes on to state what it’s about:

Who does Batman report to? The commissioner and ultimately the mayor. Who does Superman report to? It’s no one we know. It’s no one we have any insight into. He just behaves in whatever way he wants, and so at the end of day, what might matter is the public reception of the superhero’s conduct. If Batman executes our wishes in the city, and Superman does what the hell he wants, that’s a conflict.

Tyson was featured in the Batman Vs. Superman trailer below voicing: “We are talking about a being whose various existence challenges our own sense of priority in the universe.”

“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” has a March 25, 2016 release starring Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Ray Fisher as Cyborg with Callan Mulvey, Holly Hunter and Tao Okamoto in new character roles for the film. Frank Miller Returns For The Dark Knight Returns III: The Master Race

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20211:]]

With Batman Vs. Superman inspired by Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns graphic novel, DC Comics has announced Miller will return for the third part of the comic series.

Frank Miller will write The Dark Knight III: The Master Race along with Brian Azarello, with the artist to-be-announced. The eight-issue comic will be released twice per month starting this Fall.

Full details:

“THE DARK KNIGHT III: THE MASTER RACE”
Completes Trilogy in Legendary “Dark Knight” Saga

DC Entertainment announced today that bestselling, iconic Batman writer and artist Frank Miller will write the epic conclusion of the celebrated THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS saga.

The “THE DARK KNIGHT III: THE MASTER RACE” is the sequel to Miller’s 1986 classic THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS – heralded by TIME Magazine as one of the 10 greatest graphic novels of all time – and its 2001-2002 follow-up series BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT STRIKES AGAIN.

Miller will be joined by acclaimed writer Brian Azzarello (100 BULLETS, JOKER, and WONDER WOMAN) on the eight-issue comic book periodical, to be published twice a month under the DC Comics imprint.  Marking the 30th anniversary of THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS original series, this periodical is slated for publication beginning in late Fall 2015.

“Batman remains my favorite comic book hero and a sequel to Dark Knight is going to be daunting,” said Miller, “but we’ll do our best.”

“We are thrilled to have Frank back home at DC writing Batman,” according to Dan DiDio and Jim Lee, Co-Publishers for DC Entertainment. “The story he and Brian have crafted is an astounding and triumphant conclusion to this seminal body of work which influenced and shaped generations of readers and creators alike.”

According to Azzarello, “It’s been an amazing experience collaborating with Frank these past six months. I think we have an epic story that these characters truly deserve.”

Artists for the project have yet to be announced.

Watch: Man Of Steel Superman’s Costume In Brighter Color

One of the complaints regarding Man Of Steel was Zack Snyder’s decision to go with a more “colorless” version of the film and in particular the Superman suit.

Fans have already colorized the Henry Cavill Superman suit, and even Batman Vs. Superman set images have seemingly revealed a brighter-colored suit.

Now the VideoLab YouTube channel has actually re-colored footage from Man of Steel and put together the above video.

Depending how you felt about Man of Steel, the brighter colors may or may not have made much of a difference as the movie was a bit dark in nature and Superman still snaps necks at the end of the movie.

Joss Whedon & The Avengers Talk Batman Vs. Superman (Video)

With the release of the new Batman Vs. Superman trailer, Yahoo asked Joss Whedon, Chris Evans and Jeremy Renner about their thoughts on the trailer and heroes vs. heroes.

Evans and Renner haven’t seen the trailer,, but the two went on to make fun of Superman as being too powerful of a character.

“How does anyone fight Superman?” asked Evans.

With Renner adding, “I know, that’s what I don’t get. What are you going to do with a Bat-belt?”

“I feel like [Superman] would bulldoze our whole squad, they really wrote him unfairly. It’s not fair, he’s got too much,” Evans said.

Whedon did see the Batman Vs. Superman trailer and offered he can understand why hero would fight against hero and says he is really excited for the movie.

“I found [the trailer for ‘Batman v Superman’] interesting,” Whedon offered. “Because they’re bringing up a lot of issues that we bring up in Age of Ultron and I think it’s inevitable. People with power, who are good, do not always agree and it makes perfect sense for me that [Batman and Superman] would fight. And besides… Batman and Superman are gonna fight! I’m so excited! I’m so excited!”

The Avengers 2” hits May 1st; “Batman Vs. Superman” has a March 26, 2016 release.

Henry Cavill Attends CinemaCon: Talks Batman Vs. Superman

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20170:]]

Prior to teaming with Ben Affleck in Batman Vs. Superman, Henry Cavill is teaming with the 2008 Justice League Batman, Armie Hammer, for The Man From U.N.C.L.E.

Both Cavill and Hammer were in attendance in Las Vegas for the WB presentation.

Regarding Batman Vs. Superman, Cavill stated, in the below video, he might be attending Comic-Con this July, but noted “things can change” with a a smile. Cavill also side-stepped questioning in regards to how Batman Vs. Superman was different than filming Man of Steel. Man From UNCLE co-star Armie Hammer then asked Cavill about working with Ben Affleck, with Cavill replying, he is “very excited, actually.” The two then went on to joke about not answering any more questions.

Update: A second video of Cavill from the event has surfaced (see below) where he offers he has seen just a little bit more of the Batman Vs. Superman footage, but says it wasn’t much as it was in black-and-white. Cavill also says he wouldn’t call it a Superman sequel: “This is Batman versus Superman. It’s a separate entity altogether. It’s introducing the Batman character and expanding upon the universe, which was kicked off by Man of Steel. It’s definitely an introduction to the character and ultimately an introduction to Justice League.”

At the WB presentation, Warner Bros. Chairman and CEO Kevin Tsujijara spoke to the exhibitors reiterating WB’s plans to release ten DC Comic book movies starting with 2016’s Batman Vs. Superman with more movies all the way to 2020. Tsujijara also made mention of the recently announced three LEGO movies and also said at least three Harry Potter spinoffs of the Fantastic Beasts series will be released, with the first due out November 2016. Following the presentation, the Batman Vs. Superman trailer was shown to the audience.

“While tentpoles and franchises are important to us and to you they are just one part of what we do. We’re also very excited about the wide variety of comedies, dramas, action adventures and horror films that we’re making,” Tsujijara said. “These films allow us to reach broad and underserved audiences and they create the opportunity for breakout hits like The Lego Movie, The Conjuring and that little film that exceeded everyone’s expectations, American Sniper… We’re committed to bringing you great films throughout the year, not just the summer and holidays…this time next year I will be here, or somebody who replaces me, will be talking about the great success we had with Pan in October.”

“The Man From U.N.C.L.E.” has an August 14, 2015 release; “Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice” hits March 25, 2016.

Zack Snyder Borrows From Injustice Gods Among Us For Batman Vs. Superman Trailer

Warner Bros. and Zack Snyder released the first teaser for Batman Vs. Superman giving us a look at new Ben Affleck Batman and teasing the reason for the big two beat-down.

You may have missed it, but once scene featured soldiers kneeling before Superman – and they had Superman shield patches on their shoulders (an ironic twist to “kneel before Zod”), which makes you believe they were Superman’s troops. We’re guessing they probably were more of a separtist faction of Superman-worshippers, the antithesis to the Superman “false god” haters (as Superman is their “god”).

The origin of the scene may have been borrowed – or better yet inspired – from the DC Injustice: Gods Among Us video game that sees Superman as the villain.

Be sure to check out our Intense Batman Vs. Superman trailer breakdown with even more mods, Easter Eggs and insights.
