Tyrese May Have Confirmed Green Lantern

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21167:]]

Tyrese Gibson is back at it — teasing Green Lantern.

The latest from Gibson’s Instagram seems almost as if it’s a confirmation the actor will be playing Green Lantern.

“The oath has been taken,” Gibson posted.

A few months ago saw Tyrese Gibson tease involvement in Green Lantern as the actor posted numerous fan art images of himself as Green Lantern stating the “oath has been taken” as well. Gibson confirmed he wanted the role and that “seeds have been planted at Warner Bros.”

Now following the latest rumors that the rebooted Green Lantern will feature Hal Jordan, Guy Gardner and John Stewart, and that Chris Pine may play Jordan, Gibons also posted: “Shit got real.”

It’s speculated that the new Green Lantern(s) may be announced at the Batman Vs. Superman Comic-Con panel.

The new Green Lantern movie is due out in 2020.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan Basically Confirms Batman Vs. Superman (Video)

About a year ago saw a set image from Batman Vs. Superman hit the net which revealed a painting looking like Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

Online speculation immediately stated Morgan may be playing Thomas Wayne, father to Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne.

Now while appearing on Jimmy Kimmel, Jeffery Dean Morgan is asked about the image, with it sounding likely Morgan is indeed reuniting with Watchmen‘s Zack Snyder for Batman vs. Superman.

“God, dang. It sure looks like me. Doesn’t it,” Morgan replied when Kimmel asked if it was him in the picture. “I think you probably have to go watch the movie to see if that’s me, but it looks a lot like me, man.”

Green Lantern Reboot Rumored To Focus On Hal Jordan, Jon Stewart & Guy Gardner

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21145:]]

Green Lantern is getting rebooted for the new WB Justice League cinematic universe, and now new rumors have hit the net.

According to Collider, the Green Lantern reboot may focus on the human Green Lanterns, Hal Jordan, John Stewart and Guy Gardner.

It’s said all three characters may be the lead in the WB Green Lantern reboot.

It’s also reported that the new Green Lantern movie franchise will never focus solely on one GL, but will continue to focus on different Green Lanterns.

So essentially, the rumor is stating the new Green Lantern reboot will first focus on the human Green Lantern members before introducing and focusing on the rest of the Green Lantern Corps.

The report also mentions the new Green Lanterns may be introduced at the WB Batman Vs. Superman Comic-Con panel next month, with it possible that the new GLs will then be in the Justice League Part 1 movie.

The rumor sounds like it does have some merit, and with the Green Lantern movie not due out until 2020, it’s more than probable we’ll see a Green Lantern (or two) prior to then.

It also probably should be noted that in addition to the three human Green Lanterns mentioned above, the comics features two more with Kyle Rayner and Simon Baz.

In the video above, Eisenberg states he will be at Comic-Con, and that: “I think we go in and out. There for the hour, and then I’m on the stage.”

It’s probably safe to assume with Eisenberg appearing at Comic-Con that Zack Snyder, Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot will be in attendance once again. It’s also possible Jason Momoa and the rest of the Batman Vs. Superman cast may be in attendance as well.

Last year saw Zack Snyder release the Batman Vs. Superman teaser with Affleck, Cavill and Gadot present.

Batman Vs. Superman Lex Luthor Is Different Than Gene Hackman Version (Video)

We hear from Jesse Eisenberg talking about Lex Luthor in Batman Vs. Superman in the above video.

Eisenberg offers this version of Lex Luthor is a great character as well as stating Lex isn’t a silly villain and is different than the Gene Hackman Luthor.

Here’s the blurb:

It was a wonderful opportunity.

It’s a really great character that’s written by this guy, Chris Terrio, he’s a phenomenal writer. He comes from a place of character. He loves my character in the same way I love my character. He put a lot of work into it. It’s a great character, there’s an emotional core to the character. It’s not silly, villainous character. It was a great part.

Eisenberg continues with mention his Lex Luthor is entirely different than the Gene Hackman version.

No. There is no way to do anything. I mean its an entirely different thing, but also the tone of that movie is so different… that movie wouldn’t be made like that now… The way we expect movies now is to have some kind of… I mean it’s for the best probably because there is some kind of more psychological accuracy… that the person is coming from a place that’s probably diagnosable.

This is a real depiction of a person who thinks these things.

Update: Jesse Eisenberg also confirms a Batman Vs. Superman appearance for Comic-Con.

No Marvel Studios Stated Again For Comic-Con; Batman Vs Superman May Be Big

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20905:]]

Confirming what James Gunn said back in March, now Deadline is stating that Marvel Studios will not have a presentation in Hall H at Comic-Con.

The report mentions that “Kevin Feige just doesn’t have anything new to show,” which is a rather odd statement as Marvel has Ant-Man opening the following week in addition to Marvel filming Captain America: Civil War and plans for Doctor Strange to be released in 2016, with filming to begin later this year.

There is also the fact that Marvel could have revealed their new Spider-Man at Comic-Con.

More than likely, Disney is holding back Marvel Studios from Comic-Con for either their own event, similar to the Avengers: Infinity War announcement with Black Panther at El Capitan theater from last year, or the Disney D23 Expo a month after Comic-Con in August.

It is noted that Marvel Studios’ absence will leave Warner Bros. with, potentially, a significant presence of its own as Batman Vs. Superman, Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman and Justice League Part 1 are lined up. It’s possible Will Smith, Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto and others may be at Comic-Con representing the DC movies.

For Marvel fans, while Marvel Studios will not be at the SDCC, Marvel Comics will be there with a booth and panels of their own.

Comic-Con takes place July 9-12 in San Diego.

Wonder Woman To Be Featured In Batman Vs. Superman Merchandise

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20900:]]

A big complaint amongst the Marvel fans is that Disney skipped out on Black Widow merchandise for The Avengers 2.

Disney and Hasbro even went so far as changing a scene from the movie to remove Black Widow in the toy.

Mark Ruffalo and George Takei even had complaints.

The good news is that same can’t be said for Wonder Woman and Batman Vs. Superman.

This week sees the Licensing Expo out of Las Vegas in which various studios and merchandisers exhibit their plans for the related movies.

WB already announced their slate of products, which also included a Jakks Pacific Batman Vs. Superman announcement today.

Now in a report over at LicenseMag.com, it’s noted Wonder Woman will be featured promintently in Batman Vs. Superman merchandising.

“Our comprehensive program will include Wonder Woman in the merchandise lines and in standalone products supporting the film. We have always had a robust line for Wonder Woman, and her role in this film and future films offers us more opportunities to feature her character and empowering attributes in many creative ways.”

“This is the first time ever that fans will see Batman and Superman together in a theatrical event. And let’s not forget the two new Batsuits, a new Batmobile, the Batwing, a new logo and Wonder Woman that all create really merchandisable elements for our partner. We have had phenomenal success with each character in their own world, but now we are able to supercharge the opportunity based on the most universally recognized Super Heroes.”

“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” has a March 25, 2016 release starring Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Ray Fisher as Cyborg with Callan Mulvey, Holly Hunter and Tao Okamoto in new character roles for the film. WB Exec Talks DC Vs. Marvel Movies, Batman Vs. Superman & Wonder Woman

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20853:]]

Warner Bros. film chief Greg Silverman offers updates on the DC slate of movies in an recent interview with THR.com.

Regarding how WB will differentiate the DC movies from Disney’s Marvel movies, Silverman offers:

We have a great strategy for the DC films, which is to take these beloved characters and put them in the hands of master filmmakers and make sure they all coordinate with each other. You’ll see the difference when you see Batman v. SupermanSuicide SquadJustice League and all the things that we are working on.

There is intensity and a seriousness of purpose to some of these characters. The filmmakers who are tackling these properties are making great movies about superheroes; they aren’t making superhero movies. And when you are trying to make a good movie, you tackle interesting philosophies and character development. There’s also humor, which is an important part.

Silverman also comments on Michelle MacLaren leaving Wonder Woman, with Patty Jenkins coming on to direct:

We had a very intensive process looking at everybody. Patty and Michelle were really the ones who came to the forefront the first go-round, so when things didn’t work out with Michelle, we all knew we had someone great who had expressed interest before. She came back and is doing a great job. But it was never about the best female director. She has demonstrated doing amazing work with female characters, such as in Monster.

Wonder Woman also had multiple writers on the project with each writing different scripts. Silverman explains the reasoning:

Every project is different. On some projects, we have multiple writers working together. In some cases, we put writers together who have never been a team together. And sometimes, there is only one writer whose voice is right. In the case of Wonder Woman, the right approach was to have writers pitching different scenes within the framework we created.

“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” hits March 25, 2016 followed by “Suicide Squad” on August 5, 2016, with “Wonder Woman” and “Justice League Part 1” in 2017.

2016 Camaro Rumored For Batman Vs. Superman

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20796:]]

Could Lex Luthor be seen cruising down the street in a custom 2016 Chevy Camaro during Batman Vs. Superman?

Well, the rumor is the new Chevy Camaro may be appearing in the Zack Snyder movie.

USA Today, of all places, reports on the possibility as Chevy has filed a trademark for a “Camaro Krypton” and “Krypton” in addition to the car being built in Lansing, Michigan where Snyder filmed Batman Vs. Superman.

As of now, the rumor appears to be just that as the designer on the 2016 Camaro says it’s news to him.

“I think that’s just internet buzz, which is great,” Oppenheiser told the Detroit Free Press, a sister publication to USA Today. “It’s another thing about this segment of cars: there’s always internet buzz.”

Oppenheimer continues with mention in which he may be attempting to steer (sorry, bad pun) people in the wrong direction.

“Sometimes when we come up with a new color in our studios, they just apply (for a trademark) in case we ever use it,” Oppenheiser said. “We never said we’re going to do anything with that color.”

It’s possible the 2016 Chevy Camaro may be a product placement for the movie. Batman vs. Superman‘s predecessor, Man of Steel, revved up (sorry, another one) more than 100 contracts and an additional $160 million from corporate sponsors including Sears, Nokia, Wal-Mart and more.

As Kyrypton is the home planet of Superman – and also a reference to Kryptonite – perhaps if not Lex Luthor, Bruce Wayne might be driving the custom Camaro Krypon? Or maybe even Clark Kent?

“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” has a March 25, 2016 release starring Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Ray Fisher as Cyborg with Callan Mulvey, Holly Hunter and Tao Okamoto in new character roles for the film. Justice League is to follow directed by Zack Snyder as well.

Jesse Eisenberg Would Love To Do Suicide Squad

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20730:]]

Jesse Eisenberg has been rumored to be reprising his Batman Vs. Superman role of Lex Luthor for David Ayer’s Suicide Squad.

Suicide Set images have already revealed that Ben Affleck, Gotham City and Batman are involved, so Lex Luthor in a cameo appearance or some other capacity wouldn’t be a big stretch (especially if WB is trying to interconnect all their movies).

Now Eisenberg addresses Suicide Squad while speaking with Total Film Magazine.

“I would love to,” Eisenberg notes, with the article mentioning Jesse Eisenberg is not rulig out Suicide Squad. “It could be the start of something special.”

Regarding Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor in Batman Vs. Superman, Zack Snyder offered: “Jesse is going to be an amazing Lex” and “This guy is the real deal.”

Eisenberg wouldn’t offer much as well, but said: “I can’t say anything about this stuff. They want it to be a surprise.”

Batman Vs. Superman hits March 25, 2016 followed by “Suicide Squad” on August 5th.

Batman Vs. Superman To Get Greek Competition

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20695:]]

Batman Vs. Superman won’t be without an opponent when it premiers March 25, 2016.

Though Wonder Woman is set to appear, Universal Studios is throwing its own Greek might at Batman vs. Superman with the sequel to the smash hit My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding premiered in 2002, and with a budget of a measly $5 million, went on to make over $368 million worldwide, with a majority of that in the U.S.

With international audiences being as big as they are now, look for a substantial boost to My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2.

Of course, it’s always possible that Batman Vs. Superman could crush My Big Fat Greek Wedding, but as the latter is a romantic comedy, the audiences look to be a bit different.

Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War, which is really a third Avengers film, also hits six weeks following Batman vs. Superman on May 6th.

Batman Vs. Superman may also face some competition from Jon Favreau’s Jungle Book (April 15, 2016) and Chris Hemsworth’s The Hunstman (April 22, 2016), but they look to be far enough way not to pose any real threat.

Charlie Hunnam as Green Arrow Fan Art

At one time it was said there was Charlie Hunnam Flash concept art created by WB, though it never hit the net.

Obviously if that rumor was true, WB chose to go in a total different direction with Ezra Miller.

Hunnam also happens to be a fan-favorite pick to play Green Arrow in the DCCU (well, second fan-favorite pick, anyway).

Check out fan art below of Charlie Hunnam as Green Arrow created by Bosslogic, who is also responsible for some of the cool Tyrese Gibson as Green Lantern art.

To date, there has been no confirmation of Green Arrow appearing in Batman Vs. Superman or any other of the DC films, but the character was paramount in The Dark Knight Returns comic story that inspired the movie.

Lex Luthor Warsuit Rumored For Jesse Eisenberg In Batman Vs. Superman

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20605:]]

While only one official image of Jesse Eiseberg as Lex Luthor has been revealed, it seems as if Jared Leto won’t be the only one wearing purple.

According to a rumor at JoBlo.com, Eisenberg will be seen wearing the Lex Luthor Warsuit the character is known for donning in the comics and other related media.

It’s said the Batman Vs. Superman Lex Luthor Warsuit will be similar to the “many variations we’ve seen in the past,” but “will obviously fit the style and the look of the film” and DC movies in general.

While it’s unclear how much of Batman Vs. Superman Eisenberg will be seen in the movie wearing the Lex Luthor Warsuit, it’s speculated to be toward the end battling Superman.

If we go by the trailer, it seems Lex may obviously create the Warsuit in response to Superman, possibly from Kryptonian technology left over from Man of Steel and Zod.

I’ll throw another possibility out there: Lex joins Batman, Superman and the other Justice League members in battle against whatever shows up at the end of the movie (Doomsday?).

Zack Snyder previously offered the following about Lex in Batman Vs. Superman:

He’s not any of the Lexes that you’ve seen, that’s for sure. Other than him being a captain of industry and one person to the world and another person to himself. And bald, of course. Our Lex is disarming and he’s not fake. He says what he believes and he says what’s on his mind. If you can unravel the string and decipher what he means, it’s all there.
