New Stark Trek Into Darkness Images Reveal Photon Torpedo & Spoilers

Star Trek Into Darkness continues to give us new images from the App, this time with three more which might give further clues and spoilers about the movie.

Empire Magazine recently debuted its May cover revealing a gate-fold spread of the cast including director J.J. Abrams.

Turns out scanning the image with The Star Trek Into Darkness App reveals three new images.

Possible spoilers follow.

The first image found reveals Carol Marcus, Scotty, McCoy and Captain Kirk seemingly lowering something.

The gang at TrekMovie found that “PHOT1093” is listed on the side, which could stand for a photon torpedo.

The two other Star Trek Into Darkness images reveal Uhura holding a Klingon disruptor, and Kirk, Spock and Uhura on the planet Qo’noS.

Getting back to the first image, as we see Alice Eve as Dr. Carol Marcus, it could very well be that the photon torpedo is related to the Genesis Project from the original Star Trek movies.

Star Trek Into Darkness Spoilers Become Available

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:6010:]]An international screening of Star Trek Into Darkness was held which revealed 40 minutes of the film.

Some details have made their way online, which give specific information on various scenes.

It’s noted that the footage wasn’t finalized, was still being worked on, and could change (via Judao.com via TrekMovie)

Spoilers follow.

The prologue is shown that was previously released, but with more footage.

Spock gets stuck in the Volcano and if the lava doesn’t kill him the freeze blast that’s supposed to stop it will; so the decision is made to leave the ocean where the Enterprise is hidden. Of course, in doing this, Kirk violates the prime directive as the natives see the ship.

This causes Kirk to get in trouble as he lies in his report to Starfleet, but Spock does not. Kirk gets demoted back to the Academy and Captain Christopher Pike gets the Enterprise.

The scene with Harrison in the hospital saving the daughter is shown with Harrison having some sort of medicine with mention of a ring. Seems the ring also contains explosives and Harrison goes to another building(?), a library, and into the basement where he puts the ring and it explodes.

Kirk is getting drunk as he’s been demoted, but Pike shows and says he convinced Star Fleet to make Kirk his first officer.

Peter Weller is revealed to be playing Admiral Marcus, thought to be the father of Carol Marcus (played by Alice Eve).

John Harrison is sited by name as being responsible for the attacks in London.

As Star Fleet and Kirk are having a meeting about the attacks — Harrison blasts in! Senior officers are killed, mayhem ensues and Harrison teleports out.

Then the Enterprise crashing scene is shown, which takes place later in the movie. Spock is the acting captain and asks everyone to abandon their posts, but Scotty and crew refuse as if the Enterprise falls on civilization it would be catastrophic. So Scotty and Kirk make their way to engineering in an attempt at diverting the ship. Many people die and the scene concludes with it looking like the Enterprise has crashed.

Spock vs. Harrison in San Francisco! It’s another scene which seems to show Spock is in pursuit of John Harrison through the streets of SF.

The report says there are no hints that Benedict Cumberbatch is Khan, but a theory is that he might be some sort of Vulcan, seeking revenge after the events of the first film.

It’s also said that John Harrison is most likely not the real name as it seems Harrison assumes the identity of a Star Fleet officer to gain access and deploy the bomb.

Chris Pine Will Be Disappointed If J.J. Abrams Doesn’t Direct Star Trek 3

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:5388:]]With the recent announcement that Disney has chosen Star Trek Into Darkness director J.J. Abrams to direct Star Wars Episode VII the fate of the Star Trek franchise is in question.

Shortly after the Star Wars announcement it came out that J.J. Abrams will be on Star Trek 3 as a producer, though nothing has been confirmed regarding a director.

Now, Captain Kirk Chris Pine, offers his thoughts on J.J. Abrams being chosen for Star Wars as well as Star Trek 3 as he tells the USA Today that he still hopes for Abrams return.

“The only way I’ll be disappointed is if he doesn’t direct our third movie,” Pine said. “I think if that turns out to be the case we’ll have to kidnap him and hold him hostage until he agrees to do a third.”

The USA Today notes all kidding aside, as Chris Pine thinks Abrams will do more than a fine job.

“From my standpoint, J.J. is a science-fiction genius. To have him over in the Star Wars camp is going to be a great thing. I’m sure it’s going to be a great film,” Pine said.

Star Wars Episode VII has a 2015 release date with a script written by Michael Arndt.

Chris Pine can be seen in J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek Into Darkness May 17th and his newest film, Jack Ryan, on December 25th.

Iron Man 3 Gets A Super Bowl Trailer

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:3673:]]For some, the best part of the Super Bowl is watching the commercials and not the game itself.

This year will see around six trailers debut for various movies including Disney with new footage for Iron Man 3.

It’s said (via CS) there will be a 60 second spot for Iron Man 3, a 90 second spot for The Lone Ranger, as well as 30 second spots for Brad Pitt’s World War Z, Fast and Furious 6, and J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek Into Darkness, with still another for Sam Raimi’s Oz The Great And Powerful.

Paramount has also launched a new App for Star Trek Into Darkness that can be used during the Super Bowl and is said to unlock various related things.

The Super Bowl ads cost around $4 million per 30 second spot. Last year saw a record audience with 111.3 million viewers.

Warner Bros. will be skipping out this year with no Man of Steel trailer, which they did last year with nothing for The Dark Knight Rises.

Target will also be skipping out and had decided to go with an App-based game promotion instead.

Super Bowl XLVII airs Sunday February 3rd pitting the Baltimore Ravens against the San Francisco 49ers.

J.J. Abrams On Star Wars: “It’s An Incredible Thing”

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:5295:]]Saturday at the Guild of America Awards the newly announced director of Star Wars Episode VII, J. J. Abrams, commented on getting chosen for the highly anticipated movie.

Abrams tells EOnline that “it really is an incredible thing” while on the Red Carpet and “it’s wildly surreal.”

Previous to J.J. Abrams coming onboard there have been rumors and mention that the original cast would return with Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford.

Abrams is mum on the subject as he says, “It’s obviously way too early to talk specifics. But I’m excited to actually start it.”

Speaking of specifics, it came out that Matthew Vaughn was in contention to direct Star Wars as well, and that he pitched Chloe Moretz in the lead role as a female Jedi. Though the information has not been confirmed, previous rumors sounded similar, which may give insights as to screenwriter Michael Arndt’s script.

Steven Spielberg is said to have been a major part of the reason why Disney went with J.J. as it’s said he convinced both Abrams and Kathleen Kennedy.

A recent report even came out and said that Abrams will begin filming this Summer in the UK with possible battle scenes at a location near where Doctor Who was filmed.

It’s also been stated that Abrams is not holding to the 2015 release that Disney has planned, which would give the director more time with the movie, and regarding Star Trek 3, it looks as if Abrams will be on as producer.

J.J. Abrams May Push Back Star Wars Episode VII Release Date

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:5269:]]With J.J. Abrams being announced as the director of the new Star Wars Episode VII movie, which Disney wants out in 2015, it became immediately apparent that the director would have to get moving on the project.

That’s not Abrams only project, though, as he has Star Trek Into Darkness coming out this May as well is attached to a bunch of TV shows.

It’s been previously said that J.J. Abrams is also attached in some capacity on the next Mission Impossible as well as Star Trek 3, so he’s got a lot on his table.

THR reports what we’ve heard, that Abrams will be on as producer on both MI and Star Trek 3, but they also include mention that sources have told them he is not holding to that 2015 release date for Star Wars Episode VII.

Episode VII is set for release in 2015, but sources say Abrams has not committed to that release date, meaning the date could be changed if the development process requires it.

So with that news we can take that J.J. Abrams won’t be rushed into pushing out the next Star Wars movie and can take his time.

Michael Arndt has written the script for Star Wars Episode VII.

No details on the plot are known except for rumors suggesting a female Jedi in the lead role.
