Henry Cavill scored the cover to the recent issue of Total Film magazine, and spoke with them on training for the Man Of Steel and donning the iconic costume.
âIâm on 5000 calories a day⊠Youâve got to eat protein first, then a little bit of carbsâŠyouâve gotta keep your hunger levels going. Iâm training two and a half hours a day, pushing my body beyond its normal limits, putting on a lot of muscle mass and just making myself look like Superman,â said Cavill.
When asked about putting the suit on Cavill said it was cool.
âItâs extremely cool. Thereâs no other feeling like it,â he told Total Film. âThey just put it on, I turned around and look in the mirror and you canât really play it cool â you sort of guffaw and laugh. I thought âOK, holy hell, this is real, itâs not a joke anymore. This is itâŠyouâre doing it, youâre right in the middle of it.ââ
Cavill also stated he is going to be, âas true as I can be to the original character and who the character is,â (he is reading the comic books) and when asked about being a Brit portraying the American super hero responded that he is very proud.
âIâm very proud to be British and playing an iconic American superheroâŠit means Iâm doing something right somewhere,â he said.
