With Kingsman: The Golden circle getting released this week, director Matthew Vaughn has been making the rounds, and talk of him directing a new Superman Man of Steel 2 movie has come to light.

Now there is word again that Man of Steel 2 may have a script.

Following Matthew Vaughn letting it be known that he has talked with Warner Bros. about a new Superman movie, the writer on Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Jane Goldman, once again says she thinks Man of Steel 2 has a script, as she previously remarked about it in July.

Hey U Guys asks Jane Goodman if she would be interested in writing a Superman movie if Matthew Vaughn asks, and she replies:

About Superman?  I don’t know. I feel like I’m not in a personal superhero phase right now [laughs], but I think Matthew would be a brilliant director for it. But I don’t know, I think there might already be a script for Superman, so I guess Matthew would get involved just as director. But I don’t know if he is at all, as a director. I actually have no idea.

Regarding what Matthew Vaughn had to say recently, he said: “I don’t know what I’m going to do next but I have had chats about Superman. I love Superman. I like superheroes…”

Matthew Vaughn also previously offered the direction he would take his Superman: “I wanna do a modern version of the Donner [version]. Go back to the source material… For me Superman is color, feel-good, heroic. He’s a beacon of light in darkness. And that’s what I think Superman should be.”

Back in 2015 actually saw Matthew Vaughn state people are tired of Christopher Nolan’s dark take on superheroes as well: “I think Nolan kick-started a very dark, bleak style of superhero escapism, and I think people have had enough of it.”
