Only two month to go until Justice League debuts in November!

US Weekly caught up with Batman Ben Affleck and Wonder Woman Gal Gadot to get an update on their respective characters, and it’s learned following Superman sacrificing himself for the world, that Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel is a major inspiration.

Ben Affleck offers that while Batman was a darker version of himself in Batman vs. Superman, that come the Justice League movie, the Dark Knight is now about hope.

“In Batman v Superman, [Batman] was at the end of his rope. But in Justice League he’s finding hope again,” Affleck said. “He has to open up and play well with others. He knows he needs them. He’s sort of the ultimate loner, but he’s really trying to make it work and develop a good relationship with all of them. He might be a mentor to The Flash”.

Likewise, Gal Gadot offers that the death of Superman brought Batman and Wonder Woman closer together.

“Since they’ve fought together, they know each other’s strengths,” Gadot said about Batman and Wonder Woman. “They also understand the hope Superman stood for, that was lost [when he died], so they feel that more than the others.”

Earlier this year also saw the blockbuster Wonder Woman debut which was set during WWI. Gadot says Wonder Woman has come a long way since then.

“She’s grown up — it’s been a century, after all! She’ll bring her specific qualities to a group dynamic, and she understands the enemy better than anyone else,” Gadot said.

Finally, Ben Affleck is asked about staying in super shape for the role of Batman.

“It’s all about paying attention to what you eat, lifting weights, cardio sessions. The batsuit is really form-fitting, so you have to prepare!” Affleck offered.

Justice League has a November 17, 2017 release directed by Zack Snyder, with the story by Chris Terrio and Zack Snyder, the screenplay by Chris Terrio and Joss Whedon, and stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon and Willem Dafoe an Atlantean, Nuidis Vulko.

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
