Tom Cavanagh Back For ‘Superman & Lois’ Final Episode

Tom Cavanagh Back For ‘Superman & Lois’ Final Episode

In a surprise announcement, Tom Cavanagh announces he will be back for the Superman & Lois final episode.

The actor kicked off DC on The CW back in 2014 when he first appeared as Dr. Harry Wells in The Flash; however, things quickly took a turn as it was revealed Wells was actually Eobard Thawne, aka the Reverse Flash.

The Flash ended with its ninth series last year but that isn’t stopping Tom Cavanagh from returning.

Tom Cavanagh appeared at Fan Expo

While appearing in a panel at Fan Expo Philadelphia (watch below), Wells said how much he likes directing DC episodes and explained that the final episode of Superman & Lois was already taken, but showrunner Todd Helbing asked if he would like a role, which Cavanagh obviously jumped at.

“The finale for Superman & Lois was taken up already, and so I said, ‘Well, I’m happy to not do it,’ which is when Todd was like ‘Well, would you play a role?” explained Cavanagh.

He continued, “And so that’s coming up, for those of you that watch Superman & Lois, something that I’m happy to have done.”

How does Tom Cavanagh return?

What remains to be seen is whether Tom Cavanagh returns as Harry Wells from the last episode of The Flash or happens to return as Eobard Thawne, which would be pretty wild.

Following the end of Season 2, Superman & Lois actually moved to its own universe, away from the Arrowverse and Supergirl, so how Tom Cavanagh returns in the final episode remains to be seen, unless it’s the way of the Speed Force.

No premiere date has been announced, but it’s thought Superman & Lois Season 4 premieres this fall on The CW starring Tyler Hoechlin as the Man of Steel.

Elizabeth Tulloch recently said her goodbyes.
