This Friday celebrates Superman Day which you would think would be a good time to drop a new Superman trailer. However, now James Gunn hints that’s not happening.
Following the five-minute extended preview – which wasn’t really five minutes but mostly footage we’ve already seen in the first trailer with a couple of minutes of additional footage – a fan questioned Gunn on social media about the second Superman trailer arriving soon.
When is Superman trailer #2?
As Gunn likes to do, he squashed the fan’s hopes replying, “We just released five minutes of footage in theaters so it will be a beat.”
Instead of a second Superman trailer, the other day saw a behind-the-scenes image released featuring – you guessed it – James Gunn. It’s actually pretty funny (or sad?) that most of the marketing surrounding Superman has been all about James Gunn. Not sure what that says.
So we are going to have to wait a bit before another trailer is released.

What to expect on Superman Day?
Superman Day is Friday, April 18th.
While it’s not looking likely that we’ll get new footage, per Gunn’s comments, hopefully, we’ll get a new poster, or at least something, right?
James Gunn has teased Superman Day along with Jim Lee, so there appears to be something planned. Let’s hope it’s better than the Puppy Bowl.
Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood has also announced plans to celebrate, which includes a one-day Superman-themed tour across its 110-acre backlot.
With Jim Lee involved, certainly DC Comics will be celebrating the Man of Steel.
It’s also now less than three months until the film’s release.
