Stranger Things “Holidays Upside Down” Promo

While we wait for Stranger Things 3 next Summer, Netflix releases the above “Holidays Upside Down” promo.

“Happy holidays from Stranger Things!” the video description states. “Millie, Finn, Noah, Caleb, Gaten, and Sadie teamed up in Mike’s basement to wrap presents for some of our biggest Stranger Things fans. And things turned a little…upside down.”

Regarding Stanger Things 3, Netflix has yet to announce the official premiere date, but details include that the season goes even darker than the previous two.

“So season 3 has a really healthy dose of poppy, bright levity and cultural fun. But I can only promise you that season 3 eventually goes places that are darker, and unquestionably more action-packed, than we’ve ever gone before,” executive producer and writer Shawn Levy said in a previous interview. “It would be a mistake for anyone to think that season 3 is the summer of fun and lightness because it’s a whole lot more than that.”

A new villain has also been teased.

“We’re not going to put Will through hell for a third season in a row,” Levy said in a previous interview. “He’ll be dealing with stuff, but he won’t be at rock bottom the way we forced the amazing Noah Schnapp to play… We’re [going to be] dealing with forces of evil that are new.”

Regarding the delay in the new season’s release, Netflix’s VP of original content, Cindy Holland, offered they simply want to make things right.

“It’s a handcrafted show. The Duffer brothers and Shawn Levy have worked really hard, and they understand the stakes are high. They want to deliver something bigger and better than what they did last year. And so they really want to take the time to get it right,” Holland said. “It’s going to be a fantastic season. It’s gonna be worth the wait,” she said.
