Star Wars Outlaws, a game that was released back in August of 2024, is confirmed to have bombed hard. The news comes as Ubisoft faces financial troubles and a struggling stock performance.
Star Wars Outlaws didn’t deliver on expectations
We get word from Ubisoft Chief Financial Officer Frederick Dugue that Star Wars Outlaws is underperforming.
“On the new release side, while the sales for Star Wars Outlaws improved throughout the holiday season, it wasn’t enough to deliver on our expectations,” Dugue said in the latest Ubisoft earnings conference call (via TweakTown).
The news follows the latest content update for the game. Dugue continues on the call by giving hope to investors that Star Wars Outlaws will perform well in the long term.
“Thanks to the rollout of title updates, the game has reached a high level of quality and is considered by the fans as the most immersive and fully-interactive representations of the Star Wars universe. The game will be a long-term seller,” Dugue said.

Players not interested in Star Wars Outlaws
However, according to the game’s developers, fans aren’t playing the game.
“SW: Outlaws Devs admit that so few players have interest in their game, that no one, not ONE single player has unlocked a mount from completing some mini-games,” pointed out X account Pirate_Nation.

Ubisoft troubles
It’s known following the failed launch of Star Wars Outlaws, that Ubisoft delayed the release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
“The revised targets are mainly a reflection of decisions taken for Assassin’s Creed Shadows and the softer than expected launch for Star Wars Outlaws,” stated Ubisoft in a report last September following a Board of Directors meeting.
Ubisoft’s stock also happens to be down around 90% from its all time highs in 2018 and 2021, and down around 56% from its one year high. Following the release of Star Wars Outlaws in August 2024, the stock also dropped around 40%.
According to its latest earnings report, revenue declined 31.4% year-over-year, and products and services sold (net bookings) are down 34.8% for the nine-month period—including a steep 51.8% drop in Q3.
