Star Wars: Ahsoka Season 2 Films Next Year, Skeleton Crew Could Get Second Season

We get some news about the upcoming Star Wars shows on Disney+ with Ahsoka Season 2 and the upcoming Skeleton Crew series.

What is the Ahsoka Season 2 news?

Ahsoka Season 2 is confirmed and is said to start filming in the Spring. The news comes via THR who says production kicks off next year.

Bespin Bulletin adds that filming will start Spring of 2025. The site also points out Sabine Wren actress Natasha Liu Bordizzo said they would be already filming by August, which doesn’t mean they start in August, it means they will already be filming.

Skeleton Crew could get a Season 2

Jon Watts’ Skeleton Crew premieres December 3, 2024 on Disney+ with the first two episodes.

According to THR, even though it is being described as a one-and-done limited series, according to their insiders, Lucasfilm is contemplating whether or not to extend the series. The kicker? It depends if the viewership ratings are good enough.

Will the fans show up for Skeleton Crew?

Recently saw The Acolyte debut with the worst ratings in Star Wars history and at a hefty cost. That said, Jon Watts did a great job with Marvel’s Spider-Man movies, so comparing Watts to Leslie Headland is a complete joke.

What remains to be seen is whether or not the Star Wars will show up for Skeleton Crew. Disney has done a great job at pissing off the fans and sending them packing. A lot of fans no longer care for Star Wars, which is worse than either liking it or hating it. When the fans stop caring is when you have major problems, and Star War has major problems.

It will also be interesting to see if a younger audience shows up for Skeleton Crew as the series seems to be more aimed a kids. Disney+ gets huge ratings for Bluey but I’m not sure Skeleton Crew is even close to that or supposed to be close to that. Disney+ also got huge viewership for Inside Out 2. The audience is there on Disney+ but do they want to watch Star Wars?
