CBS has announced the new Captain for Star Trek: Discovery.
Following William Shatner, Patrick Stewart, Kate Mulgrew and Scott Bakula, Jason Isaacs will be the next Captain for Star Trek.
Jason Isaacs has been cast as Captain Lorca in Star Trek: Discovery, which launches on the CBS All Access digital network.
Isaacs is known for Harry Potter, The Patriot, The OA, Dig and Awake.
CBS also announced Mary Wiseman (Baskets) has joined the cast as Cadet Tilly, a Starfleet Academy Cadet in her final year of study, also assigned to the Discovery.
The actors join previously announced stars Terry Serpico, Maulik Pancholy, Sam Vartholomeos, James Frain, Doug Jones, Michelle Yeoh, Anthony Rapp, Chris Obi, Shazad Latif, and Mary Chieffo.
Star Trek: Discovery began production in January and takes place about 10 years before Captain Kirk’s five-year mission.
