Following the news that Michael Keaton is back in talks to play the villain in Spider-Man: Homecoming, a new set of rumors has hit the net.
According to JoBlo, the main villain of Spider-Man: Homecoming is the Vulture.
It’s also said a secondary villain will be The Tinkerer, who helps the Vulture create his suit with recovered Chitauri tech from the first Avengers movie.
Regarding the role that Robert Downey Jr. will play, it’s said it will be more of a mentor role, and one that sees Tony offer further upgrades to the Spider-Man costume.
The big upgrade Stark is said to give Peter is straight out of the comics: The Web Wings, which Spider-Man can deploy as needed (though I believe in the comics they actually served no purpose).
Spider-Man: Homecoming has a July 7, 2017 release directed by Jon Watts starring Tom Holland as Peter Parker and Spider-Man, Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark and Iron Man, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, with Zendaya, Laura Harrier and Tony Revolori.
