Spider-Man: Homecoming finally opened in the #2 market in the world with China, and it didn’t disappoint as it has an estimated $21.6 million opening.
The current estimates are pegging Spider-Man: Homecoming to have the highest opening box office of any superhero movie in China this year.
It’s further said Spider-Man: Homecoming has the #3 overall best opening in China for a superhero film, behind Avengers: Age Of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War, and is Sony’s best ever debut-day.
Spider-Man: Homecoming has a current worldwide gross of $747.8 million with its international gross at $422 million.
Some other numbers for Spider-Man: Homecoming include it’s the #1 comedy high school movie of all time, #4 Spider-Man movie in the U.S. (trails all the Raimi movies), #3 superhero movie of the year (trails Wonder Woman and Guardians of the Galaxy 2), and is the #5 best opening movie of the past 365 days.
Marvel Studios has already green lit a Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel which gets released July 5, 2019. Tom Holland next returns as Spider-Man for The Avengers: Infinity War and untitled Avengers 4.
