An apparent audition take for Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 reveals that Gwen Stacy will be a part of the sequel.
The video shows a young actress in scenes with Peter Parker, as well as her father, Captain George Stacy.
Now what is unclear is that the actress appears to be from France and is speaking with an obvious French accent.
It’s unknown if that means Gwen Stacy in Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 will be actually from France, i.e. a foreign exchange student, but that doesn’t explain why her father would be in the police force; so it’s possible the actress simply wasn’t using (or doesn’t know) an American accent for the role.
The Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel has a July 5, 2019 release directed by Jon Watts starring Tom Holland and marks the first MCU movie following Avengers 4.
