We may forget all about Thanos as a potential listen to Darkseid in the Snyder Cut from voice actor Ray Porter becomes known thanks to The Sandman audiobook.
To be clear, the voice in the below video isnât Darkseid, but itâs Ray Porter from The Sandman audible original that a fan ripped and put together with images of Darkseid.
As a lot of fans note, Ray Porter happens to sound a lot like Michael Ironsideâs Darkseid from the Justice League animated shows, and as a Redditor notes, we can guess that Zack Snyderâs VFX team will make Porterâs voice sound even more epic.
Have a listen below.

Darkseid coming to the Snyder Cut
Regarding Darkseid in the Snyder Cut, Zack Snyder has confirmed the DC villain will be a part of the movie and recently saw a leaked storyboard offer a spoiler and the HBO Max teaser also features the Lord of Apokolips. Watch below.
Ray Porter also offered what it felt like to voice Darkseid for the Snyder Cut version of Justice League that didnât make its way into the theatrical version.
âIt felt amazing,â Porter told Lightcast. âI definitely knew I was part of something enormous. But the way Zack works, and the general attitude of everyone whoâs worked so closely with him for so many years, is really positive. It was a very kind, friendly, happy set. And great work was getting doneâŠI will say that the lycra mocap suit didnât feel great. CiarĂĄn [Hinds] and I both looked odd in our lycra mocap suits.â
Porter also revealed that he relied on Snyder and Justice League screenwriter Chris Terrio to help him find Darkseidâs character and voice.
âI went through a few different vocal gymnastics trying to figure out the voice,â recalled Porter. âI will admit I didnât know the character incredibly well right up to the point of being castâŠIt was never something I was incredibly aware ofâŠso I didnât know all of the canon. Fortunately, I happened to be on a set with people like Zack and Chris [Terrio]âŠI donât think Iâve ever met anyone who understands all of the weird concatenations of that canon better than those people. So there was always that steady information. I needed to be understandable,â added Porter. âBut it needed to be a voice that was not of this Earth. And that was what I tried to go for.â
If Porterâs Darkseid voice sounds anything like the audio above, we all just might be forgetting Marvelâs purple bad guy, whatâs his name, again??Â
