Silver and Black Loses Release Date

Silver and Black

It’s reported that Sony’s Spiderman spinoff, Silver and Black, has lost its release date as the studio has removed it from the schedule.

No reason is officially known why Silver and Black has been removed, which was said to have a February 8, 2019 release date, but by all accounts it’s still happening.

It’s possible Sony could be looking for a new release date for the flick or perhaps they are moving it back because the script isn’t yet ready.

Silver and Black is being directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood and will feature the Spider-Man characters, Silver Sable and Black Cat.

As of this past February, Lindsey Beer and Geneva Robertson-Dworet wrote the script.

Sony also has Venom coming out in October starring Tom Hardy.

Previous details said about Silver and Black include:

  • Silver and Black sounds like it will be a lot darker than Spider-Man: Homecoming.
  •  Director Gina Prince-Bythewood compares Silver & Black to buddy films such as Thelma & Louise and Midnight Run: “I wanted to tell the story of two damaged women who are at war with each other but need each other to survive,”
  • Gina Prince-Bythewood says Silver Sable and Black Cat are “modern and cool” and even though “they may wear costumes, [they’re] very real and very grounded.”
  • Not a part of the MCU.

In the comics, Silver Sable is a mercenary who runs a company that hunts war criminals, and Black Cat is an acrobatic cat burglar whose real name is Felicia Hardy.
