Silk Spider-Man Spinoff Said To Be In Development

It’s being reported the Sony is developing another Spider-Man spinoff movie with Silk, aka Cindy Moon, from the comics, which is a female version of Spider-Man.

The character was retconned into existence in the comics back in 2014 as the same spider that bit Peter Parker was said to have also bitten Cindy Moon (it never happened in the Stan Lee version).

If Sony does decide to go forward with a Silk movie, it would join Venom, and spinoffs for Silver and Black (Silver Sable and Black Cat), Nightwatch (possibly directed by Spike Lee) and Morbius the Living Vampire.

Note: The Sony Spider-Man spinoffs are not a part of the Marvel Studios films, but there has been rumor that Tom Holland may appear as Spider-Man, as Spidey is on loan to Marvel from Sony (and said to be returning to Sony after the Marvel Spider-Man: Homecoming movies unless a new deal is made).

Sony also has the animated Miles Morales Spider-Man moving, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, coming out in December, which is a stand alone film, and is developing the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming with Marvel, which comes out next Summer.
