A new image featuring the titan Rodan is released for Godzilla: King of the Monsters in which director Michael Dougherty compares the kaiju to an atomic bomb.
“[Rodan] is a bit of a rogue… you never quite know where his loyalties lie,” Dougherty tells Empire Magazine. “Godzilla’s more of a lumbering, plodding presence; it takes him a couple of days to destroy a city like Tokyo. Rodan can level it without even thinking. He’s this massive A-bomb, so there’s a speed and ferocity he brings.”

Godzilla: King of the Monsters gets released May 31, 2019 starring Millie Bobby Brown, Vera Farmiga, Charles Dance, Kyle Chandler, Bradley Whitford, Thomas Middleditch, Sally Hawkins, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Ziyi Zhang, and Ken Watanabe.
