It doesn’t sounds as if Iron Man 4 is going to happen any time soon, if at all.

USA Today visited the set of Captain America: Civil War where the subject of Iron Man 4 came up while talking with Robert Downey Jr.

It’s noted that Robert Downey Jr. thinks Iron Man 4 would be great, but the actor, who will be making his seventh appearance in a Marvel movie this May, offered, “I don’t think that’s in the cards.”

Robert Downey Jr. says his Iron Man 4 is Captain America: Civil War.

“In a way it’s Cap 3 but for me it’s like my little Iron Man 4 and then it’s back to the thing we all recognize,” Downey said. “Everything pulls over to the side of the road when the thunder of an Avengers thing comes through because that’s how it is until it changes. If it changes.”

Interestingly enough, while discussing if Tony Stark is the bad guy in Civil War, Robert Downey Jr. mentions he thinks that if they ever did a final Iron Man movie for him, he should be featured as the villain.

“If we’re going to go there, then we’ve got to save it for my swan song,” Downey said, while adding in Civil War he isn’t all that bad. “I would still like to keep a general audience and mildly be in their favor somehow.”

Robert Downey Jr. is expected back as Iron Man for The Avengers: Infinity War movies.
