Is Quasar James Gunn’s Mystery Guardians of the Galaxy Easter Egg?

Update: James Gunn shot the Quasar theory (and an Eternity theory) down on Twitter.

Could Quasar be James Gunn’s mystery Guardians of the Galaxy Easter Egg?

Gunn has been telling fans since the release of the Guardians of the Galaxy movie that they have missed a big Easter Egg. While I think Gunn has just been trolling fans to get them to watch the movie more (kidding!), a new theory suggests the Guardians of the Galaxy Easter Egg is one of my favorite superheroes with Wendell Vaughn Quasar.

The MasterTainment YouTube channel put the pieces together in the following video.

While not mentioned in the video, Quasar is associated with Ego The Living Planet in that he absorbed Ego into his Quantum-Bands. Another potential connection is that Quasar is father to Starhawk, with Kismet being’s Starhawk’s mother.  In Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Kimset will be featured played by Elizabeth Debicki, but going by the name of Ayesha. Gunn isn’t doing a straight adaptation of the comics, could Star-Lord somehow be related to Starkawk?
