Peter Capaldi plays The Thinker in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad and talks in the following spot.
In the DC comics, The Thinker is Clifford DeVoe, a villain of The Flash and a disgraced District Attorney, who decides to become a bad guy and invents the “Thinking Cap,” a machine he wears that allows himself to become telekinetic and telepathic, controlling his victimsā minds before he even bothers to outsmart them in the first place.
The spot features The Thinker as he joins the Squad.
The new poster for The Thinker also features Peter Capaldi with Starro’s starfish. See below.
The Suicide Squad gets released on Aug. 6.

Where the worst Super-Villains are kept and where they will do anything to get outāeven join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X. Todayās do-or-die assignment? Assemble a collection of cons, including Bloodsport, Peacemaker, Captain Boomerang, Ratcatcher 2, Savant, King Shark, Blackguard, Javelin and everyoneās favorite psycho, Harley Quinn. Trekking through a jungle teeming with militant adversaries and guerrilla forces at every turn, the Squad is on a search-and-destroy mission with only Colonel Rick Flag on the ground to make them behaveā¦and Amanda Wallerās government techies in their ears, tracking their every movement. And as always, one wrong move and theyāre dead (whether at the hands of their opponents, a teammate, or Waller herself). If anyoneās laying down bets, the smart money is against themāall of them.
