Patty Jenkins is asked about Superman, which follows Wonder Woman being a colossal success, with talk of Wonder Woman 2 already underway as well.
While participating in a Reddit Q&A with fans, Patty Jenkins lets it be known that she happens to be a big fan of Superman, and she also says she would be open to anything in the DCEU.
While we’re all probably thinking the same thing right now – Man of Steel 2 – Patty Jenkins does note she is happy doing Wonder Woman, which means she wants the Wonder Woman sequel.
As I previously said, while watching Wonder Woman, I couldn’t help myself from thinking that Wonder Woman should have been Man of Steel. Maybe Superman needs Patty Jenkins’ touch?

It’s no secret that I love Superman but right now I’m just happy doing Wonder Woman.

how much influence did Zack or Geoff John’s have on the movie?
I think Zack mostly had an influence in getting things back in order to be a good origin story, and then Geoff and I worked super closely to work on the script and the story and Zack was a great producer, but creatively they gave me the reins.
Would you be interested in a bigger role in the DCEU than director ?
I’m open to anything in the DCEU but mostly I just love making Wonder Woman.
What inspired the pure heart that ‘Wonder Woman’ has as a film?
I would say that Wonder Woman inspires it because she herself has the pure heart but I also felt that that really missing in the world right now, and so that was exactly what I was excited to celebrate in this film. Some very pure hopes and ideals in addition to how badass she is.
Are there any movies you’re excited to see this year or have already seen?
Very excited to see a number of things, Baby Driver being the next one coming up, but also

• Justice League
• Thor: Ragnarok
I also can’t wait to see Ava DuVernay’s A Wrinkle In Time.
Hi Patty, absolutely loved Wonder Woman! Did you think that burgeoning romance between Diana and Steve was necessary for the story you chose to tell? Were there any drafts that had it stay platonic? Thank you!

As for the romance, yes I thought it was absolutely necessary. I think that all of the great epic classic films that I was basing the movie on had that as an integral part of them, and I wanted Diana’s story to have EVERYTHING – no lesser than any other superhero. It’s not about her needing anybody, it’s about her deserving someone amazing.
Would you consider directing a Star Wars movie?
I’m not sure.
