Earlier in the week, a rumor hit the net that UK theaters were getting a Star Wars: Episode IX trailer or teaser that would be released on Friday, but that obviously didn’t happen.
As promised, I contacted a director/producer friend in Los Angeles who is close to the movie theater business and asked if they received a Star Wars: Episode IX trailer or teaser.
“No luck on the trailer. They don’t even have it in queue,” my buddy told me.
So there you have it, at least for now.
Regarding the release of the Star Wars: Episode IX trailer or title, it is still anybody’s guess, but official Disney Twitter accounts have seemingly been teasing something, which at least is a good sign. Again just a guess, but Disney may reveal the title soon and then a teaser during Star Wars Celebration in April.
I’ve also been trying to get the Star Wars: Episode IX title from my The Avengers: Endgame source, but J.J. Abrams seems to have it locked up pretty good.
Another potential place to look for the title is at the United States Patent and Trademark Office as Disney will copyright and trademark the title; however, Disney has been pretty good about releasing the info after the big reveal, as what happened for The Avengers: Endgame title which was online at the copyright office moments after they officially revealed the title.
While we wait, production on Star Wars: Episode IX has ended and Abrams did offer at least a new image, with Disney also announcing Triple Force Friday.
Star Wars: Episode IX gets released December 20, 2019 starring Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, and Billie Lourd, Naomi Ackie, Richard E. Grant, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, and Billy Dee Williams, who will reprise his role as Lando Calrissian. The role of Leia Organa will once again be played by Carrie Fisher, using previously unreleased footage shot for The Force Awakens.
