David Harbour filled in Variety that they have finished filming on Hellboy in Bulgaria.
“It was hard,” Harbour joked. “I’m 40 years old, and I’m running around punching giants.”
The film is said to be about Hellboy going to England, where he must defeat Nimue, Merlin’s consort and the Blood Queen. But their battle will bring about the end of the world, a fate he desperately tries to turn away.
Hellboy has a January 11, 2019 release date and is being directed by Neil Marshall starring David Harbour as the titular character, Ian McShane as Professor Broom, Milla Jovivich as Nimue the Blood Queen, Sasha Lane plays Alice Monghan and Penelope Mitchell will play the role of Ganeida, an elder witch.
The Hellboy script is being worked on by Aron Coleite from a draft by Andrew Cosby, Christopher Golden and Hellboy creator Mike Mignola.
David Harbour is also returning for Stranger Things 3.
