X-Men: Apocalypse Official Concept Art & New Details

Scans surfaced yesterday from Empire Magazine featuring X-Men: Apocalypse concept art.

Now the images have officially been released, with new details from director Bryan Singer and producer/writer Simon Kinberg.

“It’s a big monster of a movie,” Singer offered to Empire. “The stakes are so high and global and the villain 
is so mythic. It’s definitely an X-Men movie, but it really feels different.”

“They’re as much a part 
of the movie as our main cast,” 
Kinberg added regarding the new additions of Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan and Alexandra Shipp. “Scott is not yet the squeaky-clean leader. Storm is 
a troubled character who is going down the wrong path in life. And Jean is complex, interesting and not fully mature. It’s fun to see someone struggling with their powers when you know one day they’ll become the most powerful person in the world.”

Ben Affleck in Toronto For Suicide Squad; Jared Leto Teases Bizarro?

It looks like rumor that Ben Affleck’s Batman will appear in Suicide Squad is now confirmed as the actor has landed in Toronto. 

Affleck was spotted arriving in Toronto as images have surfaced.

In addition, Jared Leto has posted a new image of himself revealing his Joker physique wear we see the actor wearing a Superman shirt. Interestingly enough, Leto took the pic of himself in a mirror – causing the Superman logo to be reversed, which is the Bizarro logo. 

Update: The shirt top is actually a Superboy tank top…

The scan surfaced online earlier today from what looks to be a magazine article.

Synopsis:

First Look At Suicide Set Pics May Reveal The Jokercycle

Check out a first look at set pics to come out of the Toronto set for Suicide Squad.

An Instagram user posted the following images revealing the crew setting up near Hy’s Steakhouse as well as a motorcycle with a sidecar (Jokercycle?!), which fans are already speculating may be for Joker and Harley Quinn.

It will be interesting to see what actors are involved with the various on-location filming sites, which hopefully gives us more of an idea where the movie is headed storywise.

Brian Tee Cast As Shredder For TMNT 2

Brian Tee has been cast as the villain Shredder for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2.

Variety reports the news, with Tee joining the recent casting additions of Tyler Perry as Baxter Stockman and Stephen Amell as Casey Joins.

TMNT 2 started filming just today in NYC and will be filming this Friday in Buffalo, NY.

Brian Tee is known for roles in The Wolverine, Mortal Kombat Legacy and has a role in the upcoming Jurassic World.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 has a June 3, 2016 release directed by David Green and produced by Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller, also starring Megan Fox as April O’Neil, Will Arnett as Vernon, with the movie also featuring Bebop and Rocksteady.

Jared Leto Rumored Not To Have Joker Tattoos

Update: Now JoBlo is stating the image isn’t a true look at Jared Leto as Joker:

…the Joker image everybody is talking about isn’t a genuine image and doesn’t match up with how he looks on set. He’s missing scars (which we reported on a while back as mementos from his history with Batman) and the grill/teeth are a kind of WTF addition to the image. Our source elaborates that he’s scarred on his back and arms and his skin is definitely whiter than what we see below. The tattoos are brand new if even real, and may have been added to cover up the areas where his scars will be.

 

With the release of the Jared Leto Joker image for Suicide Squad, just about everybody took an immediate disliking to the Joker tattoos.

Would the Joker really tat himself with “Damaged?” That’s like a UFC fighter tatting his forehead with “tough guy.” Yeah, pretty lame.

It’s been speculated by fans the Joker tattoos were just included with the image possibly for the character’s 75th anniversary as we see various references of what looks to be a bird wing (Robin) on the Joker’s right bicep, the Killing Joke “HaHa” font, the cards, the smile and more.

Now an apparent Hollywood insider is stating the Jared Leto Joker image is not what the Joker will look like in Suicide Squad.

As noted, some of the leaked set images and video of Leto as the Joker reveal no tattoos, and many fans have pointed out the Leto Joker image tattoos appear to be photo-shopped on to the image as they are heavily pixilated (meaning Leto wasn’t actually wearing them).

Seven years have passed since Robert Downey Jr. donned the famous Iron Man armor in the first of many planned films in the franchise. It was a lot of risk to get to where they are today but the reward was very much worth it. 

Next came Edward Norton & Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Incredible Hulk, Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye and Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanova. All these great characters/actors came together to form the Avengers along with countless talented writers and directors such as Joss Whedon, Jon Favreau, Kenneth Branagh, Anthony & Joe Russo and many more.

X-Men: Apocalypse: Cerebro, Angel, X-Jet, Egypt Concept Art

Scans from the latest issue of Empire Magazine have landed online giving a look at more concept art for X-Men: Apocalypse.

We see a peek at the X-Jet, with what looks to be Moira MacTaggert, Hank McCoy and James McAvoy pictured; Simon Kinberg offers: “Moira is back in a big way. This is a chance to do something we haven’t seen before – a proper Charles Xavier love story.”

Angel art is also featured with Singer teasing: “He’s not a very nice angel. He doesn’t live up to the name.”

An image of Xavier with Cerebro, with Singer laughing: “He’ll have hair in the movie. That’s all I’ll say!”

Another image features what looks to be possibly an origin scene for the villain of the movie, Apocalypse. Singer offers not all of the movie is set in 1983: “There are sequences that take place in the ancient times as well. I’ve always had a deep fascination with religious history, with ancient history.”

Avengers: Infinity War Starts Filming In 2016 For 9 Months

While promoting The Avengers 2, Chris Evans mentions filming for the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War movies, which will be filmed back-to-back.

Evans first tells Esquire that filming on Captain America: Civil War will go to August or September, and Evans also says he expects filming on the two Avenger: Infinity War movies to start either in the fall or winter of 2016:

“You know, you plan around the Marvel responsibilities. You have to. We start [Captain America: Civil War] in a couple weeks, and then that shoots until August or something like that. August or September. Then I’ve got some downtime and I can do with it as I please. I don’t know if I want to take time off or go pursue another directing job or find a movie to act in or, you know, do whatever I’m creatively inclined to pursue or wait, relax, enjoy my life. And then we start the Infinity War, I think, some time in the third quarter. Fall or winter of 2016. That’s going to be like nine months to shoot both movies back to back.” 

Regarding Captain America 3, Evans just tweeted he had to shave his beard for the movie as filming looks to begin any day now.

Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 has a May 4, 2018 release date; Avengers: Infinity War Part 2 opens a year later on May 3, 2019.

Daniel Bruhl Confirms Baron Zemo For Captain America 3

It was pretty much a given, but now Daniel Bruhl has confirmed he is playing Baron Zemo in Captain America: Civil War.

The German actor confirmed the news with the UK’s Independent.

“I think I can tell you that without being thrown into Marvel prison… For the first few days I’ll walk around like a little boy, just amazed by the megalomania of it. It’s such a huge project. We could do 20 films with the budget.”

Zemo is a son of Nazi scientist with links to Hydra and is leader of the Masters of Evil and The Thunderbolts.

Captain America 3 looks to begin filming any day now and has a May 6, 2016 release directed by the Russo Bros. starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Frank Grillo and Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther.

Watch: The Avengers 2 Thor Hammer Prank

We’ve all seen the clip from The Avengers 2 featuring the Assemblers attempting to lift Thor’s hammer.

Cap moves the hammer a bit, but in the above video no mere mortal appears to be worthy enough as the Trollstation YouTube channel glued Thor’s hammer to the ground and recorded people’s reaction when it wouldn’t budge.

Gorilla Glue may want to think about becoming a sponsor.

Frank Grillo Tweets Crossbones; Chris Evans Starts Captain America 3 Filming

It sounds as if filming on Captain America: Civil War has begun or is about to start soon as Chris Evans has tweeted out he shaved his beard.

Evans posted on Twitter: “Dear beard We had a good run, but this is where I leave you. Thank you for braving the Boston winter with me. I miss you already #Cap3Begins.”

We also hear from Captain America’s archnemesis, played by fan-favorite actor Frank Grillo, who tweets a pic of Crossbones adding: “I laugh at your super powers. Grab your hammers and shields and what ever else you need. I’m ready.“

Batman: Arkham Knight Nightwing Teaser

With the full “All Who Follow You” trailer do tomorrow, a new Batman: Arkham Knight teaser has been released featuring Nightwing.

The full trailer will be released April 27th.

Batman: Arkham Knight is based on DC Comics’ core Batman license and will be available exclusively for the PlayStation  4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, and Windows PC on June 23rd.

In the explosive finale to the Arkham series, Batman faces the ultimate threat against the city he is sworn to protect. Watch: Video Makes Fun Of Jared Leto’s Joker Tattoos

Jared Leto’s Joker for Suicide Squad officially hit the net, which has received mix reviews.

However, what basically has been one-sided is the reaction to the tattoos – that being negative.

Now check out the video above that makes fun of the Joker’s tattoos (it’s pretty funny!).

Regarding the Joker tattoos, there has been talk amongst fans online that the tats are just for the Joker’s 75th Anniversary and not for the movie, as fans have pointed to leaked set images and video which apparently do not feature the tattoos.

My guess is it’s wishful thinking, and the tattoos are here to stay.

“Suicide Squad” has an August 5, 2016 release date directed by David Ayer starring Will Smith as Deadshot, Jared Leto as the Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Jai Courtney as Boomerang, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, and Viola Davis is playing Amanda Waller.

Captain America 2, Thor 2 & Guardians of the Galaxy Now On Netflix

Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Thor: The Dark World and Guardians of the Galaxy are now available to stream on Netflix.

However, the catch is the movies are streaming in certain foreign countries.

Users are reporting on Reddit that using the Chrome “Hola Better Net” extension, the movies are accessible anywhere.

How it works is, Netflix knows the location of where you are viewing the movies based on your cpu/internet provider settings, and only certain movies are available in select countries.

The Hola extension enables users to mask and change their location via a VPN. So for example, if you are in the U.S., you can use Hola to change your location to the Netherlands and view the movies.

Apparently, Netflix has been under pressure from the movie studios as they have caught on to the trick, and Netflix may be banning users who use VPNs to access the service.

It’s unclear where this falls under copyright laws as technically you are not downloading the movie, and it is “available” to stream. 

So here is your fair warning: If you decide to go the Hola route, do so at your own risk.

Reportedly, the Marvel movies will be readily available on Netflix later this year.

Billy Unger Teases Spider-Man

A couple of days ago Cosmic Book News reported on the possibility of Billy Unger playing Spider-Man as the actor seemingly teased the character on his social networks.

Now Unger is back; this time not denying he is Spider-Man.

“I’m not saying I’m Spider-Man.. I’m just saying that no one has ever seen me and Spider-Man in the same room together,” Unger posted on Instagram with an image from when he was seven years old.

The 19-year-old life-long Spider-Man fan also had his image tweeted by the official Avengers Twitter account as having attended the premiere for The Avengers: Age Of Ultron – something none of the five rumored actors can claim.

The new Spider-Man will be in high school and is rumored to appear in Captain America: Civil War prior to the 2017 standalone Spider-Man movie.

Robert Downey Jr. Possibly Appearing In Spider-Man Movie? (Video)

With Spider-Man speculated to be first appearing in Captain America: Civil War, it’s possible the 2017 Spider-Man standalone move could feature Iron Man (especially if you are familiar with the comics).

Above you can check out an interview with Robert Downey Jr. from a couple of weeks ago where RDJ is asked about Spider-Man.

Robert Downey Jr. tells EOnline that he is “old school” and would rather have Peter Parker as the new Spider-Man over Miles Morales (Kevin Feige has since confirmed the new Spidey is Parker).

Robert Downey Jr. also says he would like Spider-Man to join The Avengers, and the article makes mention that RDJ might be featured in the standalone Spider-Man movie noting RDJ didn’t exactly deny the notion.

An actor has yet to be cast for Spider-Man, but five actors are rumored including Nat Wolff, Asa Butterfield, Tom Holland, Timothee Chalametand Liam James.

“Captain America: Civil War” has a May 6, 2016 release; the Spider-Man movie is due out July 28, 2017.
