Neill Blomkamp Shows Why He Deserves The Alien Franchise

Neill Blomkamp, director on the likes of District 9, Elysium and Chappie, was at one time supposed to do an Alien 5 movie, but Fox Studios and Ridley Scott put the kibosh on the project.

Instead we got the awful Alien: Covenant Prometheus 2 movie and what looks to be two – more than likely – god-awful sequels in the works as well.

Well, I like Neill Blomkamp’s style, because he’s not going to quit, but just do things himself.

Neill Blomkamp released the following trailer from his new Oats Studios project, which is putting out science-fiction shorts. And guess who is featured? Yep. Alien‘s Sigourney Weaver who was supposed to return with Neill Blomkamp in the Alien 5 movie. The trailer also features Dakota Fanning.

Looks pretty good.
